Thinking about installing big red springs  in "02 standard rear shocks. Info says they fit oem or progressive shocks so curious if progressive has any springs to fit oem shocks or opinions on LA chopper red springs. thanks

You can hang springs on the oem shocks but they are way light on rebound damping with the stock spring so with stiffer springs they will be even more under dampened...like a pogo stick.  IMO the only energy I would exert on the stockers is to unbolt/remove them.  Rick

Probably good advice, hate to spend the bucks . Any experience on what best shock for the money would be.

A lowered softail, you need to turn the preload on the shocks all the way up to help with ride quality. At least that's what helped with mine, night and day difference.        Coff 06

Shotgun shock and never look back.
If you have to stop and think about if it is right or wrong, Assume it is wrong.

Thanks, think I'll adjust them first and see what that does.
