I am looking for a helmet communication device to buy so I can talk with my wife on the back of my Deuce.

this system is what I use on my Fatboy only complaint I have about it is I wish it had a push to talk button instead of relying totally on the vox may have that feature now my system is 6 yrs old and I also use their headsets with the Ultra

Midland just came out with a new setup that is really nice.   BT NEXT multi rider intercom system.  PM me if you would like a price on one.

RKTOM

I used a Midland for several years on a RK and by finding the right headset from Sierra Electronics in Troy Ohio which comes with PTT that you hook to handle bars it works just fine.  I did later put an antenna on the back of the back of bike and even find that now you can buy a throat mike for cheap.  The rubber ducky antenna does work but not as well as an external antenna, also found that using recharge batts in the radion instead of hooking up to the electric system on bike, less interferance, easier to take off when stopped but overall worked very well.

I sell my customers the Scala Rider Cardo, and they are VERY happy with them. Bluetooth, interlinkability, FM radio if you want and superb noise cancellation.  You'd need a chainsaw held to your head the hear a background noise!
They are pricey but my customers swear by them.

Is there one universal system that works with all of them? I've heard that many of the systems are incompatible and thus everyone must be on the same system otherwise it's back to hand signals, yelling and cb radios. Sounds like a plot by the manufacturers to get you to force all your friends to buy their system.
Life can only be lived in the present moment.

I don't know anything about compatibility for the Systems but the bluetooth link up for your phone will give all riders the ability to simply call the others and as long as they have the bluetooth ability also they only need to answer the call. Most modern cell phones are fully functional through bluetooth.
I've tested some systems a few years ago, before the Cardo and there always seemed to be something missing. My customers (even the ones on Ultras with CBs) seem to love them. I installed a new set of G-4s yesterday, fresh out the box. Took only 10 minutes to charge them on the USB charger. I don't have a single customer who's complained about them not lasting long enough for the ride yet.

Are you sure you want her to be able to talk to the whole time? :gob:

We've used the Chatterbox bike to bike system for 10 years. They were great but use the FRS frequencies of the hand held walkie talkies. We cannot talk to CB users.
