I saw the post here earlier this week for the Eastern Performance 25 days of Christmas specials and a Trucklite Phase 7, 7" Headlamp for $189.95.  Well, I ordered one on Wednesday and the man in the brown truck delivered it to me today.  $189.95 delivered to the door.  Price on the HL was great, as usual good service from Eastern Performance.

Can't wait to get this installed,  Now, if it'll only stop raining and get about 20 degrees warmer, I can see how this works after dark.  May have to wait til spring, but this was on the winter upgrade list anyway.

That sucks! I paid $275 in September! :banghead:

I'm missing something; the ones I have seen on Kurakyn's site were about $500 bucks; have the prices dropped that much?

I believe Kuryakyns LED's are the Truck Lite Phase 6. $190 is a great price! i got mine for $217 thru Discount Fleet Supply. Excellent headlight ....

Eastern Performance has them on sale again for $212.95 and the passing lamps on sale for $179.95.

If you have installed the headlight did it fit the same as the stock?

yarddog,

I haven't installed the LED HL yet, but the link that was posted shows you what it looks like installed.  I have the extended HL ring from HD so it should be no problem getting everything to fit.  This coming weekend is another 4-day run and weather should be a little warmer.  Hope to get out to the shop and get the light installed then.

Figured I'd just update this post instead of creating yet anouther trail to go down for these amaizing lights.
After drowling over and pricing out these Truck lite LEDs for over a year, I finally pulled the trigger when I noticed a real brick and mortor store in Iowa was selling the 3 lite Harley package for $340.00. That's about 50-60 less than anything has been on FleeBay forever.
They're called Drive Trane America, add the .com and your there.

Do these lights increase daytime visibility? I never ride at night but really want to be seen in the daytime!
Thanks Steve

LED headlights are hard to see in daylight. To be highly visible amber is the way to go.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

:agree:

these thing really stand out in a crowd! get you noticed from a distance by oncoming traffic on HWY/FRWY(Daytime). That being said, They SUCK to get you noticed in the city! My buddy has them on his Heritage and when I look back in my mirrors I could swear that one or both of his passing lamps are out, but that's not the case. The horizontal "cut-off" is definite. To solve all this, I cruize with my Highbeams on in the daytime. I modded my passing light switch to get it's source from my AUX thus I can run the Passlights with high(illegal) or low beams. (also parked with ign swtch to AUX for that matter)

I have the phase 6, very noticeable during the daytime.
Here is a link to a review of the phase 7 with daytime photos

Kury's ARE Phase 7 leds.
Be careful on the low price deals. Someone told me there are some seconds floating around by reputable E-Bayers.
I have a Phase 7 on my FLHR, had to put a hood on it because of protrusion. Still getting used to it.

Draws hardly any amperage.

I have seen the lower prices floating around for about 2-3 months not. The price on the LEDs are continuing to drop and improve. You need to install the extended ring on a fairing model though, or it looks goofy

Which ones would that be?

I got the Phase 7 headlight last summer but held off on getting the spots. The headlight is invisible unless viewing straight on in daylight, so it was good that I kept the stock spots. Oh, and I only paid $189 from Eastern Performance at that time. I think the pricing fluctuates alot for some reason.

Do you have sources for that? My investigation when I was switching all my Harley headlights to LED last year was that "They (LED Headlights) can be seen from further away in the daytime..." albeit that is from a lighting web site. Here's one from consumer reports but for cars "Our tests of new models with LED lights have shown they do produce a brighter light than Halogen bulbs, but don't necessarily help you see any further down the road." More of what I was reading was that it is more the color temperature of the light around 5800k that is more like sunlight and thus easier to see from further away. They are DOT approved so at least they are no less than conventional, if that counts at all.

Note too that LED at the power needed for these applications is relatively new. They have been susceptible to vibration and temperature issues. The LED's I installed came with a heat sync and rubber stops for inside the bucket. So far, I have not had any issues with them, I do ride high beam during the day and have had some situations where a vehicle entering the road started to move then stopped as I was approaching so I know they did see me in time at least.

I just checked Eastern Performance and they have them for $169.95

Think it has allot to do with the Reflector and crystal clear lens combo on the Phase 7s. None of the light gets soaked up or lost in the diffuser like on the phase 6 or a standard HD 7" H.Light. So with that unless your in the defined pattern of the reflectors, There's not much to see. This is why I put the High beams on which projects light exactly parallel to the road(if your HL is aimed correctly)
