I have a 2010 Road King FLHR and need to get it a bit lower to plant my feet solid, about 1-2 inches. Someone said get Burly lowering blocks and was a simple install. What pro's and cons in trying this. Thanks in advance for your help!

Lowering blocks work but are not an ideal solution. They change the geometry of the shocks so you lose a little bit of ride quality. Shorter, higher quality shocks are a better solution. Albeit $600 to $1000 more expensive.
Having said that, I've had them on mine since '01 and they work fine. I also lowered the front end about an inch and a half and that helped quite a bit also. The rear blocks only lower the rear end about 3/4 of an inch. A new Sundowner seat also helped but I don't know how the new seats compare to my old maxi pad that came on my '01.

The seat is th best place to lose an inch or 2

progressive 444's are 11.5 inches that would drop the bike 1.5 inches over stock. JC motors has them on sale rite now for 460.00 ish.  Combined with a lower profile seat like the Mustang lowdown, you sholdbe good to go :bike:

I like the idea of attacking the seat instead of crippling the suspension.  Rick

i've had lowering blocks on mine since 97, the seat width makes a big difference I got three counting the stock one change them for cruising or touring.

Lowering the rear 1" with lowering blocks or shorter shocks and some one inch lower progressive monotubes would work well.
