Putting a set of Wild Ones 12.5" Chubby Apes (WO502) on my 2007 Softail Custom (FXSTC).

1) How much longer should I order my new cables (I've been told +4", for all cables)?

2) Where should I buy the wire extension kit to internally wire the bars, and how much longer should this be?

3) Would like to use HD parts, as I get a discount. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about HD Diamondback cables? Is it true that they are overwhelmingly bright looking?

4) Anything I'm forgetting?

Thanks

standard bars are figured at 8".. so a 12.5 would be a +4 on the cables. Diamond backs cables have a nice finish.. As far as the twist grip sensor wires, you can buy extension ( Barnett or Namz CCP ).

Having a little trouble ordering the correct Diamondback 1-piece front brake line from the HD website.

I have a 2007 Softail Custom (FXSTC). Stock/OEM front brake line is part #42148-07. Stock front line is 2-piece, the length of which I do not know.

According to the HD website, there isn't a 1-piece Diamondback front brake line available, only a 'modular' 2-piece front brake line, that has separate upper & lower lines.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using the modular 2-piece line?

Also, I don't know what angle banjo fitting to order. They come in 0*, 35*, & 90*. Which do I need?

Thanks again.

O.K., I now know what length cable & wire I need, but I have new problems and concerns.

Unless someone can talk me out of it, it looks like I'm going to be using a 'modular' 2-piece front brake line (like the stock set up), as HD does not offer a 1-piece for my application (2007 FXSTC). Again, I want to use HD parts for this project.

Also, I'm now struggling with what angle banjo fitting to use on the front brake line, where it meets the front master cylinder. Apparently, the fittings come in 0*, 35*, and 90* angles.

I think I presently have a 0* front brake line fitting. However, when I look at pics of Folks' bikes with braided cables, there always seems to be an awkward looking gap, or asymmetry, when they use a 0* or 35* fitting.

Won't using a 90* fitting cause the front brake line to look just like the clutch cable does, exiting the lever straight out? To me, this seems like the obvious choice.

When I imagine what a 90* fitting would look like (symmetrical w/the clutch cable), I can't see why anyone would even consider using a 0* or 35* fitting. Is there a disadvantage to using a 90* fitting that I'm just not seeing?

I've tried attaching a pic of what I'm describing below.
