FSG, help clear up this part number business for a caliper rebuild kit?

Looking at 44315-00 it appears to include all the seals necessary for any non-Brembo 2000+ HD caliper. However   Chrome Front Brake Caliper Kit, 44395-08, calls for seal kit 44315-08. Typo? Does 44315-00 work for a '09?

In 08 the Tourers got the new HD Brembo Calipers and the 300mm Discs.

In 08 the Softail & Dynas got new Calipers Front and Rear.  Those calipers took a new style pad and have different pistons with pad retaining clips.

With different pistons come different seals, square, wiper and crossover, hence the different Kit 44315-08.

Kit 44315-00 will not work for an '08 or later Chrome or Black Non HD Brembo Caliper

Thank you. That's what I suspected but how come when I enter 44315-08 into a site like Lake Shore's online ordering page or Ronnie's which wholehog posted it doesn't find a part matching that # to order? Do I have to go aftermarket to get seals for my '09 Dyna calipers?

Print out the instructions, take them to your HD Dealer and show them the Kit PN you want, see what they say.

Haven't done that yet but I did find a piston kit including all seals, pistons, and anti rattle spring, 44313-08, available. $72 retail. Interesting that the seal kit alone 44315-08 isn't listed in any of the online databases.

Edit: Drag Specialties carries the aftermarket equivalent kits including pistons, seals, not sure on spring, 08+ Dyna/Softail not sure on ABS models.

Just an update. .watched eBay, got a like new front caliper for $45 that was mis-labeled with pads, hardware, etc and a complete new take off rear M/C, caliper, associated lines, pads, brake rod the whole shebang still connected for $84. I'll find a way to keep the seals good and have spares to swap out fast in the future. Can always sell mine down the road. M/C goes for 100 by itself and it looks like a pain to remove and rebuild the rear from the parts manual diagrams.
