I've decided to put a CV carb on.Looks like ebay is probably the best place to get one.Are there any ones to avoid buying?Just asking cuz i see lotsa different part #'s.carb will be going onto a S&S e manifold,so i know i'll need the flange adapter.its a press fit onto carb,so im wondering if JB weld is necessary?what year/models evo cables work?

The only CV I avoid is the late 80's that were on the sportster. They are easy to spot in photos because they don't have an accelerator pump.

Yes, use JB Weld when installing the flange. It prevents small air leaks at the flange.

Use any EVO cables '89 and later. You just need to determine which are the right length for you. Barnett can make any length you need.

There are also two styles of CV cables. The '96 up cables are different at the twist grip end (push in, rather than screw in) due to a change in the switchgear and housings.

IMHO try to get a unmolested one where no one has played with the slide ( drilling ) or gotten nuts with polishing it. Neither are deal breakers but I like to know where I am starting from.
On that one if the idle mix screw isn't uncovered it's a fair indicator there has not been too much monkeying with it yet.  Yes an accelerator is a must have for me. My indie set me up with the enrichener and the 96up throttle assembly.

You won't regret giving a cv a shot.
