i ride daily  high mileage means alot, my 1999 has around 140,000 miles no problems,

friend has a 2011 street glide that the dealer put a 120 Jim's motor  in for him. with a 21" fancy mag wheel and a few other add ons..bottom line is it has 2000 miles on it, final tune  hp 127 tq 130

i am thinking of it for my new daily rider  approx cost of 25,000   question is how long will it last me being ridden normal i am a old gray beard but going fast is nice

thanks  spring is here

I think you already know the answer, you won't get 140,000 out of it.  There's a reason the old engine is lasting so well, and its called a lack of stress.

There are no free rides when it comes to hopping up an engine, you get to play but you have to pay, just sooner rather than later.

As the HP to cubic inch ratio exceeds 1.0, engine life decreases ( generally )
The 120 piston will have more likely to rock in the cylinder due to short skirt length vs bore..
A  120 rear tire will never last as long as a EVO.. why should the engine ?

I would put a SE 120r in it, they are proven to stand up to some pretty aggressive riders.

 :agree:
we will NOT install the jim's motor,, too many problems.. we have done atleast 12 120r's and have had 0 problems,,  all that being said,, logic dictates that a motor with double the HP of a stock one will not last as long as as long..

i was wrong it is Harley's version of the 120, but if i cannot git 100,000 out of it its to pricey for me

I'd wager it will make 100k miles easy, after looking at Strokers when he had it apart at 30k...

If you don't abuse the motor, I can see it might go 100k. I've owned 4-5/8 stroke Shovel motors that went well over 60k before needing any attention, that being a top end freshening up, and they are, well, Shovel motors.   :teeth:

And Evo or TC with a 4-5/8 stroke, I can see 100k if it's not run to death.

Whether or not it goes the 100K miles - you'll sure get there quicker!!  :bike:

The one i installed made it just over 10K. Lifter rollers and cam lobes went south.
Was in a FL with syn 3 oil. First year production engine though.
