I've never had this come loose. I have even used it to glue loose floorboard and brake peddle rubber back on.

I know that I've used some form of "Super Glue" from time-to-time, but the sh** they send with the grips never seems to last.
I've also had really bad luck with the 'gel' super glues.  For some reason this only sticks for about a month, at best.

If you really want to keep them grips on, use an epoxy of some sort.  I've had to either destroy the left grip, or sell the handlebars with
grips included whenever I've used this method over the years.  In the old days, we'd use the ol' lady's hairspray, back before the expensive grips!  LOL

I wouldn't be using contact cement. The name says it all (how are you going to slid it on?).  :missed:

use what they install golf grips with! double sided grip tape with mineral spirits.           Winn Grip Installation

The double sided tape (carpet tape, H Depot) with lighter fluid works very well......

Have used a product called something like GripStick in the past.  Was great and never loosened.  Super Glue never worked for me - always came loose.

My most recent grips from Kuryakyn came with a sticky glue that would set within a minute or so when you installed the grip.  It is almost bullet proof - tried many ways to take the grip off for installation on new bars and it won't budget.  Asked the Kuryakyn folks what is best to use to get them off = their response was "don't even try - you'll ruin the grip".  Guess that says it all.

Hairspray. Slides on easy, sticks real good. And you can get the grips off if you need to. Oh yeah, cheap too.

   been using hair spray since my dirt bike days.  Works awesome and grips come off easier when you want them too.

I've found that if you use an automotive wheel cylinder hone (with drill motor) to rough up the inside of the grip (rubber), it will help give the glue more adhesive contact to hold the grip in place also.

Agree. Gluing to a parting agent won't work worth crap. I use acetone to clean the grip bores then that gorilla crap or black widow super glues. Sticks so well I had to destroy an iso grip to get it off. :banghead:

I would think Bike shops. I probably got mine from J&P Cycles but I did a search and found it here too.

Yep. Hair spray. That's all you need.  :pop:

I use laquer thinner. Slightly dampen the inside of the grip, slid it on and when it dries, the grips rock solid.

Double sided tape, 3/4" spiral wrapped on bar and roll about  1/4" over the end and tuck inside, spray both inside the grip and the tape with WD40, slide the grip straight on and align.  After 10 minutes it will not come off!
