A friend of mine just bought a 2013 110 Anniversary Road King. 103: stock, nothing changed.

He wants to put on a set of Kerker slip ons. Mostly for the sound. Dealer told him he would screw up his motor doing that.
Someone else told him that the computer would pick up the change and compensate for less back pressure.
I mentioned that if he were to install a stage 1 air cleaner he would have to remap as it would run leaner.
Not so sure about just changing to slip ons. They are not wide open as they aren't that loud, but louder than stock.
It runs fine and purrs pretty nice.

Can he get away with just changing the pipes?

If his header is stock with the cat in place then he will not have any issues running just slip ons.

I have a 96" 2010 RG running stock 2/2 with cats.  I have V/H Classics mufflers and have no issues with stock mapping.
