Guess I can't just let this one fly....  :idunno:  As a Cdn indy, I see/hear this all the time. "Always cheaper in the states".... Of course they are! That's business! Nothing more - nothing less. There is no way that us in Canada can compete with US prices. Check with Dunlop, Michelin, Avon et all... Find out who their Canadian distributors are - very few of them! Any tire entering this country through means other than these distributors, is done illegally.Happens all the time with everything though, don't it?? All those US retailers are not supposed to sell to Canadians...  :hyst: I have my distributors in Canada who have treated me well over the years and I will continue to support them, because just finding the cheapest prices is not always the best way. BTW, I still sell HD tires cheaper than the local dealer - so I happy!!

Maybe by phone.Jake Wilson beat them by many $$$$ is why I went there.DK used to be my go to.I start by calling Calif Phil,if he can't give you a good price,he may recommend someone.Just the kind of guy he is.             Coff 06

I've purchased many from "Canadasmotorcycle.ca", never had any problems, very quickly shipped & always new tires. As a canuck.... I don't think that you can do any better from anywhere in "The Great White North"! :chop:

Rags722, I HAD been using the Same Indy, for about 25 years, evolved in to a Pretty Decent Friendship, and even Some employment for a few years. He always gave me a "Fair" deal, not a ball buster for him, but I wouldn't expect that from him, He was in Business to Make a Living. There was, and is One other Indy I do use on occasion, but the Time it takes to travel out to his place, Almost makes it a moot point, on CERTAIN things. When I Do get a set of Skins for the old Bagger, I Will Most Likely be doing business with one of these companies, Likely, but at This Point, Not 100%, it would be the one here in Canada, Mostly because the Border guys CAN be a Little Overzealous At Times, and I really DON'T like to spend a couple of hours in Customs/immigration, for something so petty, while they Run You, AND Search the vehicle etc. If you know what I mean.
Glad You Got a Fair deal, and managed to Keep it "Local" as well.

Hey Wicked, a strange thing about this though. I USED to see Prices that were LESS than The Price in the U.S. on Certain items, Not so Much lately though. As I said earlier, I've Never Bought a Tire for ANY of my Rides over the years, that I did Not Buy From an Indy. The ONLY Exception, I Bought and had installed, a Pair of Tires at a Harley Dealership in Chatham, after I Had a Pretty serious issue with a "Potty mouth"ty Dunlop. They were on it when I bought the Bike, and although they were New, I Knew there was Something Not right. I ended up wearing them about 50%, and said Enough is enough. I Stopped at the Dealership, They could fit me in, so I said, Replace them Both. Best Thing I did on that old Girl!
As You would know, even List Prices Vary Significantly between Distributors, and about an hour and a half, Maybe Two hours ago Now, I Called the other Indy I have used for almost as long as my Friend, and he gave me the list price for the same tire as we changed out, His Price, RETAIL, $230.00, Heavy Duty Tube, $14.95, Rim Strap, I'm Not Positive, but I Think it was around $7.00 or so. That's All Full Pop, No Break, No Nothing. Now, I Look at the Indy my Buddy used, same Distributor, Better Mark up, Unlikely, probably used one of the Other Distributors.
Like I've been saying, as of Yet, I Have only Bought Tires here, from an Indy, but that is Likely going to Change! I will pay the $20.00 to my Friend to Flip them, even Though he will do it for Less, for a Friend, (Me) I Still would rather Pay him his Going rate, Just so I Can have a GOOD job done, maintain our Friendship, and have a coffee with him any time we feel like it. It's that simple for me. Glad You are Happy about being able to sell for less than the H-D dealer Wicked! Good onya.

koko3052, I'm awfully Tempted to be giving those guys a whirl in the Fall. Canadian Located Company and No Border Crap. That Helps the Differences in the Prices. I've NEVER gotten Those Prices, not even from my Friend, the Indy I used for Most everything over the last 25 years. I Didn't want him Going Broke over me! LOL
Thanks koko!

Hey you lads stop complainin' - you could be here in Australia where $280 for a 402 in Whitewall looks like a bargain.....
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a roll of Duck tape then you're in trouble

Andy my MAN! My Initial post, tells what my Bud Paid for his stuff. I I R C, He paid $291.00 Plus 13%tax, JUST for a Blackwall 402. Plus he bought a new Tube and Rim Band. $280 for a whitewall is Better than he did Mate!
