Shovel guys always seem to be looking for wiring diagrams as we battle gremlins.
FSG has compiled a collection for all years at the link below.  We owe him big.

Hey Fellas,
I'm getting ready to work on the wiring harness of my bike, a 1979 FL (I'll be modifying my bike to utilise twin cam era hand controls).  I have the service manual diagram, but my eyes start to blur over trying to trace the wires.

I exported the diagram and overlaid the actual color of the wires. I also made a diagram to help me keep straight the wiring on the terminal block:

Maybe this will be helpful to somebody else.

Wow, great job! This is really nice. I put the TC controls on my evo softail, and you should see my documentation. Or, maybe you shouldn't! Definitely going to file this info away.

thanks,
JW

Hooooooraaaaaaah!!!

This post has been hanging around for a couple years here....   I found it by accident last night when I had spent about four hours trying to figure out the terminal block on my 80 FLHS...   all I had was a fuzzy cellie pic... I emailed this attachment to myself, then went over to Staples and emailed it to their printing service  Then I gave the lady at the Staples desk a code number, and 8 bucks, and they printed me off a 24" by 36" print of the above chart!   EVERYTHING i needed to know , wrapped up in an awesome post from you guys!!!!Thank you , Thank you, Thank you!!!! :bike:

Pics when I get my FLHS on the road!!

It's a whole new day when someone switches-on a light in a dark, windowless room, isn't it?

And the guys on here are super-duper at light switches. Glad to hear you now have your lights-on.
We're all A-holes. It's to what degree that makes us different.

That compilation has saved my (and other) arse on the road many times. I carry a copy of the relevant drawing in all my bikes and have printed one for folks on the road. Thanks FSG.
