Do the newer plastic saddle bags have the same fitment the old fiberglass ones do? Mine are cracked from the years of packing. Never even went over the recommended maximum load :teeth:.

Need to know a little more detail.  I've made newer ('02) ones fit the older style (late '80s-early '90's) with some fiberglass work.

If I'm not mistaken, the right side bag changed from a "partial" bag (due to oil tank battery interference) to a full bag in 93.  Bag dimensions from 93 to 13 should be identical.  I think the material changed in 04 (maybe 05) to the black GTX Nylon.

Edit - thanks Snuff.

Damaged bags can be repaired with a little bit of work.  The only fiberglass work I've had was in junior high industrial arts class years ago.

Sorry, should have included a year...'02. I haven't done that much fiber glassing either. I'm painting this winter so we will see about repair or replace. The lids and hardware should be interchangeable if the bags are the same.
