Lexol-nf Neatsfoot (8 oz)

LEXOL-nf NON-GREASY NEATSFOOT FORMULA
LEXOL-nf is a unique neatsfoot formula which offers the user superior conditioning and lubricating qualities without the many performance disadvantages inherent in traditional neatsfoot oil and other such raw oils. The limited, yet time-honored, virtues of neatsfoot as a "bulk lubricant" have been refined by scientific methods resulting in this modern, state-of-the-art lubricant suitable for conditioning and preserving even the finest leather.

PRODUCT RATIONALE
The oils in Lexol-nf have been "solubilized" through a process of chemical alteration which enables them to penetrate easily into the leather, bond themselves to the fibers. The translucent amber oils in LEXOL-nf mix freely with water, a unique capability that makes the product equally useful on wet or dry leather.

In contrast, traditional neatsfoot oil cannot penetrate wet leather. Even when applied to dry leather, ordinary neatsfoot and other "raw" or unmodified oils have little affinity for leather fibers. Rather such oils remain free to spread taking the line of least resistance through and out of the leather -unable to bond to the fibers, indiscriminately migrating into inlays, clothing, or other materials.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
LEXOL-nf looks like oil, feels like oil, but when applied to leather, it penetrates quickly and leaves no oily residue on the surface. It doesn't stain clothing or adjoining materials and-unlike ordinary neatsfoot and other raw oils -is readily absorbed into wet leather.

LEXOL-nf is buffered to a pH that is favorable for the preservation of leather, thereby offering protection against deterioration and the damaging effects of the environment. This buffering process is not possible with ordinary neatsfoot.

LEXOL-nf contains moisturizers which combine with the lubricants to prevent dryness and brittleness, and a solubilized derivative of lanolin to enhance the product's outstanding conditioning properties.

LEXOL-nf nourishes the collagen and elastin proteins of the leather fibers, literally binding itself to these fibers to maintain the flexibility and durability of the leather.

LEXOL-nf doesn't darken leather -leaves even light-colored leathers with their natural tones. It is not intended for suede or other rough-finished leathers.

LEXOL-nf contains no chemical solvents to seep onto other materials and cause damage or discoloration.

LEXOL-nf is non-flammable, non-toxic, requires no special ventilation, and is non-irritating to the skin (can be applied with the fingers). It is odorless and won't rancidify.

In summary, LEXOL-nf is a unique neatsfoot formula you can use on your finest leather. It leaves no greasy, oily after-feel, no sticky residue to trap dirt in the leather and discolor clothing, no "oil feedback" to leave the surface tacky. The solubilized lubricants in LEXOL-nf penetrate easily into wet or dry leather-actually bond themselves to the fibers to maintain strength, flexibility, and durability. LEXOL-nf imparts a warm, smooth satin finish to the leather… doesn't darken light colored leather.

This is the only way to extend the life of your leathers with out leaving a waxy residue behind. This is hand me down info from a leather company.
Tried others but went right back to neatsfoot.

I have used neetsfoot on boots and it seemed OK but I liked the Lexol better. I still use Lexol occasionally on natural or tan leather. Doc Bailey's seems very good on black leather

Growing up on a ranch and working ranches for a number of years there was Neatsfoot oil in every shed.  It is oily but it works great on harness leather and such. Lexol...... used it.  I found a much better product.  I now live in single digit humidity conditions.  Obenaufs.  Great stuff. I use it on my gun belts, holsters, leather check book covers, custom made binocular cases, chaps, motorcycle jackets and all my Randall knife sheaths.  Check their site out.  I am not a sales person for them but it is a top notch product.

Neatsfoot oil is what we used way back then for breaking in new baseball gloves, riding boots & conditioning beat to hell leather jackets. My 20 yr old boots have only had Neatsfoot oil used on them & Reno has low humidity so its dry here. Theres a few small cracks in them but not even close to needing replacement.

However, Ive talked to guys that used Lexol & they like it.

Jazzman, Used neatsfoot oil on ball gloves as a kid.  It worked VERY well.  Still had the same can of Neatsfoot oil and years later I had a pair of motocross boots that were very, very stiff and hard to walk in.  Even wore them around the house trying to get 'em broken in for about a month.  Took them out to the garage with a 1" paint brush and that can of neatsfoot.   Put it on heavy and the next morning they were soft and easy to walk in.

Lexol has a neatsfoot product, see reply 1. I use it on my daily wear boots, knife sheath, gloves etc.

We also use their cleaner and protectant products on the horses saddles and the leather bags on my shovel.
Good stuff, it leaves my Mustang seat clean and black but never slippery.

It's the only thing I've ever put on my baseball glove, and it's lasted 43 years and is still in good shape. My only problem is all those neets, running around with no feet?!!
Why are we just sitting here, Lets ride.

I apply and then lay leather product out in hot sun or in a warm oven for a few hours...
