Any solid suggestions for a MAP to start with on this settup?
02 Touring, stock throttle body, 95" @ 9.7:1, 06 ported heads, TW48 cams, 2-1 exhaust.
Closest cam I can find in the Zippers MAP's is SE255's, but they're for 06+ throttle bodies.
Thanks!

I too had trouble finding a TMax for my 95" build... I went with a 103" [yes, for some reason they want you to stay within the specific CI], but it worked great.  I did open up the session for 10% chgs and did a lot of short sessions to allow for quicker tuning.

I would look at map #782, I believe that the ID of the TB's are the same just the injectors don't interchange [wiring & fit].  Your ported heads will/should have better VE and be close to a stock 103... The 255's have similar lift and the 4* earlier close should not cause any timing curve issues.  jmho

Stock 06-07 TB, 2-1 pipes, recent map as of 10/07/2011
Modeled from SE Stage II Kit 96-103 Conversion/ Using SE 255 Cams
Engine Compression 9.8 to 1
Lower Idle Not Recomended
Updated ignition timing pages for improved fuel mileage from Map 719

edited: before someone mentions it there is a difference in flow rates; 01-05 injectors are 4.35, and the 06-07 8*/25* flow 3.91... you can change the value in the map to adjust it...

Thanks q1svt! Since posting I've been running on MAP#611 (with some adjustments) & it seems to be taking well. Down the road, in the name of science, I'll give 782 some runs with the adjustments you mentioned.

 keep us posted on your progress...

FYI, I noticed that Zippers maps show a stock 01-05 EFI injector is rated @ 4.22, but my notes say it's 4.35... maybe someone can share the correct number [I run an 06 so not as knowledgeable on later years].

edited: bottom-line I would use the Zippers number 4.22 since it's their mapping...

If you are running the 611 map and its not pinging.. I'd continue to use it and see how the autotune wants to correct the map..

I agree with Max post your map before running Automap

Just wanted to update; I tried a few MAPS and after several attempts at dialing them in I was always left discontent with the infamous butt dyno. 4 days ago I loaded 894 (made for 06 later TB, ported heads & Zippers 527's). Did the injector compensation & subtle changes in the AFR's & there's what I'd been lookin for. She pulls consistently hard from the get go into the 4k's (haven't been any higher yet cause of a lot of new parts). Significantly less timing in this MAP & even less as engine temps increase. Anyways, good score!

I got better results too using a map for a RS cam with their muscle kit that was close to my build...  turns out a TBW map [timing, temp, A/F curve] was setup for the sized TB I'm running so a little cut/paste into a similar TBC w/smaller TB map did the trick.  I didn't know about the RS527, I'll keep this one for a friends bike.  I heard a roomer that they spend more time tuning TMax Maps for their performance products.

 :agree:
I was thinking the same thing & wouldn't blame them for putting more tune time into their own parts. I would.
I like the profiles of those RS 527's. Looks like the mating of Andrews 26's & 37's with some growth hormone on the lift :koolaid:
