They help break the cold air quite a bit. You might also look at these too, they're top notch, give Chris a call.

Shobby;  I'm pretty sure the $89.95 ones in the HD catalog are not leather, but a nylon type material. Several of my friends have them and they are good quality, ez on/off and VERY effective for blocking wind and rain. I have soft lowers of a different brand and think they are one of the best purchases I've made for the bike.
I'm starting to believe my body is gonna outlast my mind.

I've an H-D set on an '02 Road Glide.  They're made of a vinyl-type material and are effective.  Though my bike has stock engine guards there are occasions wherein because of cold it proves necessary to bring them into the house for a short period to allow them to warm so that they can stretch so as to wrap around the guards.

I bought a set off of E-bay that a guy in Canada made.  I think they are better quality, defiantly look better.  Cheaper that Harley!

The best thing I have ever bought for my Road Glide.  When raining hard I have scooted my tennis shoes close the chaps.  Never got wet.

hmmmm just wondering how many of you guys with the "leather" lowers think the factory lowers from HD are just butt fugly?  :potstir:

Just stirrin chit. Sorry.  A guy that works for me has those on his VTX. They have to be similar, he loves them a rides a lot later in the season than I do.

H D sells a fabric style also which goes on and off much quicker and easier than the  fake leather ones which are  more dificult when they are cold and yes they work great

the sagebrushdesign people are good to work with!!!
back in 2002 i called and ordered a pair of studded lowers for the ol's 02fxdl. told him i would be sending a money order and he shipped them out that day. said he trusted me on the money order thing.
they still look and work great.

I bought a set for my FLHTC, same deal, easy on and off, good quality and work great.  Store in small space in saddlebag too.

Have a set I too bought off E-Bay 8 years ago. Use them on my Road King and now my Ultra instead of Factory Lowers. Well worth having in cold weather. I have even popped them on when traveling in rain.

My dad made his own in the 30's, leather I'd guess. I saw a picture of them but can't locate it now.

I agree they are not pretty, but my view of them from my warm/dry position behind them is minimal.  :chop:

I got these (heavy almost "saddlebag grade" leather) shipped to my door a few years back for $45 or $50 for the pair - as I recall 'easyricer' here on HTT knows the Gent that makes em up near Miserable Wells TX(aka Mineral Wells)...............not sure if the guy still makes em or not - they do work GREAT...........I upgraded the hardware last year - didn't like the screws that came with em

I've been using the Harley ones on my RK for years. They live rolled up in my saddle bag, take up no room and go on in a flash. A word of caution though. On a RK with the full wind screen you are pushing a billboard down the road. They are way different than the moulded and more aerodynamic lower fairings.

The guy who made them up here a few years ago, closed his shop. Sorry Katfish, I can't help right now. I have a cat who is dabbling in heavy leather and stopping by our monthly swapmeets. I'll see if I can convince him to make some up.

Thanks for the replys   I am going to get a set of the Harley one  I have a  gift card to use at a Harley store and was going to get a new rain suit but will get lower cover this time.

Used them on my 06RG.  Rode to Daytona from Knoxville every March for Bike Week.  They did a great job of blocking the cold and keeping the slush off my boots.  Removed them in Florida.  Knocked a few miles of my gas mileage but was worth it.  Did not care for the look but was more into function over form due to the cold.

Ok Guys  going this weekend to pick them up I had to order them and now I am reading they want work with extended reach brake pedal and I have the longer brake pedal   all I can see it might rubber it alittle  anyone use these with the longer brake pedal?  Was going to ride the bike and get them but it is to 43 degree's and 80percent rain  the rain will hold me up  I was wanting to see if they would let me try them in the parking  lot to see if they will fit.
