Know some old-timers who sear by this stuff.  Got to be honest with you I put a shot in my tank every other fill-up.  Top end luberication?  Carbon reducer?  Never did any harm.
Anyone else use this stuff?  Be honest.

MMoil is better on older engines. SeaFoam is good for carbon and fuel sytem cleaner.

Only used it in small lawnmover-type 4-stroke powerplants when I was losing power. If it's sticking valves closing late it works quite well. Can't say I'd ever put it in a big bike though. Likewise SeaFoam in the oil-great to thin it out for 20-30miles before an oil change if you ran too long, but IMHO no reason to add it for the heck of it unless you own stock in the companies :teeth:

Stuffs been around for as long as I can remember. I use it in all my motors every once in a while. Some old time farmers have sworn by this stuff for years.

H-D has been selling their own fuel additive(diluted ,of course) for years, containing "Duralt". This is the supplier,  www.superfuelsaver.com

Here's my take:
If the engine is tuned properly.
If the ring and valve stem seal is excellent.
If the bike is ridden aggressively more than not.
If the quality of fuel used has a good additive package (ie: Chevron).
There is really nothing to be gained from these add-ins.
However if any of the above conditions are not met these are great tools to fix and/or mask problems.

Great lubricant for my air tools.  Otherwise, I see no need for it - just like Bob says.  The only thing it really does for you assuming all the conditions mentioned above are present is make a profit for the manufacturer and the retailer.

If you have a build that requires the best octane, the MMO might give you some ping since it lowers your octane some.
.                               If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It smells good, is a pretty color, and comes in a can with great propaganda written on it.  I don't use it and don't think it is needed.  Just because granddaddy used it doesn't mean it's good stuff, sometimes granddaddies ain't all that smart. :teeth:

There are people out there that do a dance every night to make sure the sun comes up in the morning.
It (the dance) must work :embarrassed:

I have a friend who found a 67 427 vett that had been sitting up for about 15 years outside. The engine was stuck. We filled up all of the cylinders with MMoil and let it sit for about a week while we changed out all of the fluids and drained all of the water out of the tank. We turned the motor over a few times without the sparkplugs and then put plugs in it and fired it up. Not only did it run great but the garage smelled great too. He kept it for about a year and then quadrupled his money on it. Some people have all the luck. But MMoil worked great for that.

I start the engine on my old car every few weeks and use MM oil poured into the carb to "choke" it when I shut it off....keeps things lubed

Memnar

Can someone explain what this Sea Foam is or does? I saw it recommend on a modern VW site for my Jetta's VR6.

Albuquerque, NM.

I think MM, Sea foam and most deposit fighters techtron ect have the same ingrediant.

Great use for it, but I prefer aerosol fogging oil for that like, I use the Yamaha stuff for my 2-stroke jetski. It has 3 carbs so it's easier to shoot up al 3 real well before it can die.

It basically lightens your wallet.....I belong to another motor vehicle forum or two.  Seafoam has a cult like following.  They dump it down or suck it into the intake with the engine on fast idle to "clean the top end".  Basically because it dumps a bunch of smoke out the exhaust, they think it is performing miracles.

We use to use brake fluid for that, crazy ain't it.  :dgust:

Great stuff for CCing heads. Color, consistency etc..

I've used it (A LOT) to fill diesel fuel filters when changing.  gotta fill em anyways and it supposedly helps to keep injector/nozzle tips cleaned.  Tranny fluid does same thing, but smokes a little more  Both are in a convenient 'container' although the one gallon MM is more convenient... there's some big diesel filters out there.....
It slid 112 feet and I had no road rash

MMO is great for removing rust. I bought a dozen ladder sights from some 1892 vintage .30-40 Krag rifles that were a bit
rusty. (not bad for 117 years old) Stuck them in a coffee can full of the stuff for about a week, and they cleaned right
up with some scotchbrite.

Kinda like buying Rid-X for your septic tank.  You go to the store,
spend five bucks for a bottle of the stuff, bring it home , flush it
down the toliet never knowing if it works.  Works great for the Rid-X people.

Seems everybody has to believe in something. Must be the word words of marvel and mystery.  To me it is just oil, no magic.

Yea, MMO sure smells great and comes in a cool looking can that's sure to dress-up the shelf in your garage/workshop.

Don't know if it provides much benefit to the top end, but I add a slug to the gas from time to time, I guess for good measure.
Remember, you can sleep in your car, but you can't drive your house.

I have never fixed my ness big sucker to divert the oil "mist" from going into the combustion chamber....So I use MMO ,,with a twist,,I refill the can with trany fluid,,,my bike gets fooled into thinking its the real thing...it works better that way...
Now that I think about it...I need to do another coke bottle of water through the carb....

Seafoam is So expensive once I finally bought some,,I left it on the table to remind me ...I need to figure a way to drill and plug the ness B.S. to divert the oil mist....someday..
