first question
anyone using the quick shifter with PC 5? your opinion on how it works?  I dont want any blown shifts at all.
probably end up with a elec over air  shifter down the road. but would like to try the quick shifter out .
second question .
I am going to use the map switch feature on the PC 5 as well. I see a lot of the jap bike guys are using it with success. anyone use it with NO2 . my plan is to activate the map switch with the nitrous button. (horn switch).
as it sets now when I hit the activation button (horn switch) I switch a relay and power a timer ,that activates the nitrous in a delay that i determine. so what is the response time of the map switch?
trying to figure out the easiest way to keep it switched to the nitrous map when i hit the button the first time, without it switching  back  to the N/A map when i release the switch. (think I got that figured out)
but I still need to switch it back to the N/A map. the map switch is normally closed ,so i just need another manual switch maybe? my head hurts. Jamie Joe

ok Joe has me thinking ...letting it switch maps back and forth with the spay button will work fast enough.

anyone had good luck with the quick shifter?

can you switch it using the Hi/Lo head light switch

Check with Txchop. He was using it a while ago.
if my memory is correct. Dan's was a pc 3 ,and he didn't care much for it.
thats what has me wondering

I think it could be done with the hi/low switch. the thing is,the horn and high low switch are so close to one another,i dont want to chance hitting them both at the same time.
as long as it switches maps fast enough, I kinda like it switching when the button is depressed, then again as it's released.

the horn button in it's current set up will loose power as soon as you let it go, Hi/Lo will stay switched but you would need some relays to use hi on low off.  Maybe better to change the horn to a push on push off and remove the other switches from the housing like hi/lo and turn.
surely there are switches out there just for this set up with nos
what about switching the whole thing from TPS and or RPM.  nos on at 4000rpm if throttle = full open, drops out with electronic shift and back on again. I think Holley and others do/did this type of system. Gets complicated and simple can be best but worth looking into maybe.

It's easily done with a controller . I am just trying to do it with what parts I have .
I will be running a progressive controller on my eliminator bike . This takes care of alot of the hurdles . I would really like to see power commander , make some of this available thru power Vision .

Used quick shift and Nos on a busa with the tuner with multi hub and switch map it  worked fine. All though there is not a 100% need to kill the bottle on shifts . Based on how much you spray the idea to have a sudden on off hit may not work well. if you bring it back on with a  progressive to smooth it out that is not a bad idea. Schnitz Micro Storm Nitrous Controller has a few newer items . We do a fair amount of the busa stuff. 30-70 hp hits . some run pump some run C-16. I like the shifter thus far. The PC has done very well without a hitch. Time wise on the map switch is instant. When you arm the system it will swap over to the WOT fuel curve, and timing retard box if in use, controller as well again if in use. Once armed you can spray with one button like the horn. for the shifter that gets a new button most times but you could use what ever you want really its just a power or ground pass though. ( again how you choose to wire it)   Arm it and launch it

I run 300 hit on a SBC with manual box I do not stop the spray. Dead out the hole 150 with the next 150 hit. Midwest tranny with 60 shot on a 113 engine is running long delay and that box is crap but thus far it has held just a might slow on the shift.
