The head mating surface looks and feels like a fine file. I've been told that the moco calls this their micro finish?

The Ra should be about 10-20, it should not feel like a file

We finish our cylinders here with a 400 grit and then plateau hone.

Here's a pic of what the cylinders look like. Someone must have went to lunch before finishing the job. Then came back and boxed them up and sent them out.

That's the top head gasket surface, not the cyl itself.

Don't look too bad for a gasket surface..

Depending on what the HG manufacture recommends...but Cometic recommends a Roughness Average (RA)of 50 or finer for head gaskets.
