An Aluminum roller X By Schubeck.

Have you done anything with them ?

No I haven't. I need to over size my lifter bores and install cast steel sleeves to use them. I bought these after Schubeck closed his doors. He claimed he had them on a spintron and they worked great so I bought them, But not realizing at the time there are no replacements if theses go bad. I was also was shopping for Matrix Composite Pushrods but Ferrea stopped making them due to excessive expense. They make a two piece solid pushrod that wasn't available for purchase at the time I called though. If I don't get my desired output from this current build because of RPM limits I will revisit this idea of extreme weight reduction again.

Until I received these I didn't know they are hydraulic!

And here all this time I thought a "lifter jig" was a dance around the bike waving a rubber chicken.  :hyst:

Cool idea.

You could also buy your wife a Food Saver for the kitchen and borrow it with the mason jar attachment.  Pull a vacuum on the jar and let it sit sealed for an hour or so.

too funny you mention this.  After seeing the video this morning , the first thing popped into my head was "she hates that foodsaver thing I bought her a couple of years ago and it's just taking up cabinet space".. so now it's taking up shelf space in the garage.

:agree:

I love the Food Saver idea. We use the bags but not the vac containers. I will now.

UltraNutZ

hell for that matter.  just get a few sets of lifters, drop them in bags, put some oil, vacuum and seal the bags, put on a shelf.  ready for the next job.

I would not use those. We tried them , and they ruined a lifter bore. They went about 11 miles before trying to seize. This was almost 2 years ago now. I just tossed them when we moved. I may have a old picture of the damage. .

Did you sleeve the lifter bore? Aluminum On Aluminum  would be a disaster.

the fastest and easiest way I found was to get a 12" long piece of clear hose @ your local hardware store that fits over the top of the lifter.
Completely submerge the lifter into a cup of oil with the hose attached onto the top of the lifter. Take a shop vac and place it over the other end of the clear hose. I take a shop rag and wrap it around the end of the clear hose and the shop vac end for a good seal. Turn the shop vac on and watch for the air and oil to come out of the lifter cup. Once you see the hose filling up with oil over the top of the lifter cup...it's pre-loaded with oil and ready to install.
It takes less than a minute to pre-load a lifter this way.
