I am looking into putting hardbags and a detachable fairing on my 03 Heritage Softail. The questions I have are for those who have done this and where is the best place to start, ie. used FLH bags, aftermarket ones, etc. Also what fairing would you recommend Hoppe Industries, Dragonfly Concepts or another brand. If anyone has pics of this also I would like to see them. Thanks to all who can help with this.

I have the hoppe Quadzilla fairing on a Roadking and love it, the fit and finish is top notch.

I had seen a post on the original HTT a couple weeks ago for Woody's Fairings.  I got on their web site and looked them over, then e-mailed them (Glenn) to ask questions about them before I ended up ordering one for my Road King.  They also sell them for softails, too.  Really nice guy to deal with, answered all my questions.  Have received it, but not painted/mounted it as of yet.  I didn't care about having a radio on my bike, but did have a handlebar mounted tach I wanted to keep.  Most I had looked at wouldn't fit with the bar mounted tach, but Woody's will.  Price was right, too.  Might check them out.

SB, You are right about the tach I have one as well that I would like to keep. I wondered if they could raise the radio location up so it would work with the tach.

I have a Radio Caddy fairing from the Trike Shope in Mn.
It isnt quite as spiffy as some of the other fairings but its not the cost of them either.
I wanted a radio on my Road King in addition to the protection a fairing provides
Most on here go for the fancy ones.
I prefer the simple look of just 2 speakers in my fairing.
I made my own quick change brackets and built my own dashboard for it.
Took a while to get it all together but really like it.
They fit the softails and they have brackets to fit them also.
Not sure how to post a picture in here yet or I would put one up.
Good Luck,
Sam

Glenn Woods was (maybe still is?) the guy that did new product development for Hoppe for a lot of years. He's a good guy that will treat you right, and he's nearly insane when it comes to product quality. I'd be willing to buy something sight-unseen, just 'cuz it's got his name on it.

Glenn Woods is the guy that I was contacting at Woody's Fairings.  Don't know who he was with before this company of his.  But he was really good at answering any/all questions I had before I ordered mine.

Gas Can

I just got a fairing from Woody for a Heritage. Great guy to deal with!

Nice to hear good things about Glen from others. I've done business with him on several occasions, he's always 100% honest and reliable

http://woodysfairings.com/ this is his web site   Glenn won't join forums and just spam members , he feels he'd rather let his stuff speak for itself.

Not sure if this is what your looking for.

Has anyone tried the "Kenny Day Fairing"?

Sportsterboy

I was to the point of probably ordering a Kenny Day fairing before I heard about Woody's fairings.  The Kenny Day is unfinished (open) on the back side and about $125 more than the Woody's fairings that are finished on the back side.  Glad I waited......

I know Woody, he used to work for Hoppe and decided to go out on his own.  Quality workmanship and he'll stand behind his product.  I'll stand behind him.
