Here's a pic

This is not a thermostat. Its Only function is a DIRECTIONAL Bypass Valve... Turning the knob only allows the cooler to get the oil... NEVER shuts off oil flow Totally...Just the Direction the oil Can Easily Flow...

ADDED for Post Below...
LOOKS Can Deceive..... I do have the Jagg one that Just has the directional Knob on front of it***... No thermostat involved on the manual one...

I did find that the Jagg Thermo behind  the oil filter IS A good one for me.. Going to a 6 row jagg and mounted on my left down tubes on my 09 FLHR...

***Had that Manual  Director Valve I speak of on a 00 FXDS...

Yours Sure looked like a manual valve... Glad You squared me away... BUBBIE

That is NOT a knob. You do not turn it. In fact, it is spot welded in place. It contains the thermostat spring and plunger that is supposed to close off or open the bypass passage. I understand that it is only the bypass pasage that opens and closes but it is always open.

The not a knob on my Harley cooler was dripping oil from the get-go. Darn thing was only finger tight out of the box. :crook:
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

I still have mine sitting in my parts box.   :soda:

I tested out my oil cooler on my 2005 Deuce. I went riding here in Fl 95 degrees today. My Harley oil cooler got hot in about ten minutes. I guess I got a good one. :chop:
