I'm due for another battery. The Deka I'm running is 4 years old now and since going to the 120ci motor it doesn't give me many chances to get it started before running so low it won't turn the motor. I've always had good luck with the Deka's but I'm just not sure if it's 310cca is enough to depend on with the new motor. The option would be an Antigravity Lithium Ion batterey. Slightly smaller and almost 3 times the price but capable of 600cca. I wouldn't begrudge the money if the lithium battery lived up to it's promise. I like the Deka's but would hate to buy another one just to find that even a new one was marginal for the new motor. I DO NOT have any more room than to shoehorn in the Deka so going to a larger battery IS NOT an option. Anyone have any actual first or second hand knowlege (not what you heard on the internet) regarding the Antigravities. Not supposed to be as sensitive to heat as the foriegn batteries so it should be okay in my oil tank.

I know nothing of the anti-gravity batteries, but am surprised 310 CCA won't turn it. Are you using compression releases?

I went with the Yuasa  GYZ32HL with 500 cca about a month ago with my 120 bike,  has been a great battery.  it take up the same space as the OEM Deka but is heavier because of bigger plates internally.

I will look into the Yuasa when I get home from work. The Deka with 310cca does turn the motor and starts it. You just don't get a lot of chances. I don't know for sure if a new one would do it or not. if someone here can say that they start their 120 with that size battery and has no issues then I'm probably just due for a new one.

I am on my 3rd year with my antigravity Lion.  Has worked very well.  Only issue is cold temps below 35* it needs to be woke up.
If you have to stop and think about if it is right or wrong, Assume it is wrong.

Just checked on the Yuasa and it is a lot wider than my 20L. No way it would fit.

OK,  thought you were in a touring bike,  look up the GYZ to fit your bike.

Don't know what's in your 120, but I'm cranking an 11.3:1 compression 117 with the OEM battery, it's six years old. I do use OEM electric compression releases.

Of course, now that I said something....  I'll need a battery....     :emsad:

I see now that you are not running a touring bike, and I think my battery is around 385 CCA if I remember correctly, that would probably make some difference in your case being 310 CCA.

My bike is a custom build using a 4 speed style shovel frame that's been stretched to accept an EVO motor and softail tranny. Short on battery room.

I even used this battery to run my car for a bit when I would drag race.

Well, if Otto is on schedule with my scoot I should have one of these sitting in it right now:

First time Lithium battery for me so I guess I'll see if they live up to the hype.  It is really light, only 5 lbs.  It will be interesting to see if I can feel any difference to the center of gravity.

The plates are not bigger, just more of them.

[/quote]  I have one in my bike and you can definitely feel an improvement in the handling, due to the weight loss.

Truck,  the plate's are taller according to Yuasa, and it shows it on the website.

Someone recently posted a video of a anti battery in a Harley, outside and in 30* temps.
Showed you how to wake up that battery.
It got stronger with every try attempt.
Can anyone post that video for our information?

Is the battery case taller also?

I just looked up that battery and now see how they pulled it off.

I purchased a 500cca battery for my 107" Deuce from Wholesale Batteries Direct on line for $99.95 free shipping :bike:

What size is your 500cca battery. There's lots of more powerful batteries out there than what i have. The issue is that I don't have room for them. Any battery I get cannot be more than 6 7/8" long, 3.5" wide and just over 6" tall. I looked into the Braille batteries some years ago but did not like the way they rated their batteries using  a rating other than cca's. It didn't give me any way to compare apples to apples.

pddredduece

The 500 cca battery fit in the battery box on my 2005  Deuce, this battery is the same dimensions as the stock 310 cca Harley battery. The battery spins the motor up faster than the stock battery when it was a 88ci

gryphon

Well, it's worth looking into. Do you remember what make it is.

gryphon

I did a little searching and found the battery you mention. Marketed under the Power Source brand. Sounds good but I'm not sure how they're able to have the same size battery but produce 60% more CCA's than anyone elses AGM batteries I'm familiar with. Anyone know anything about 'em.

I bought a lithium last moth from Auto Zone. The print says you need a lithium charge for maxim use.  Also said if the battery went below 20% charge the warranty is void.  I took it back and will buy a H-D replacement.
