2015 Victory Magnum Announced: Bagger With High Style.

i see ness is still influencing design, looks like his work but is def better looking than the vision.

I like that they are listening to their customers. 21 inch front wheel, apes, etc. Unfortunately they still can't make a bike that isn't hideous.

rbabos

While I'm not a fan of the pointy rear end or fin arrangement of the engine, they are good stout bikes overall. I've seen quite few visions around lately and the owner seem to like them.

To each their own... Victory doesn't "move" me. My Ultra does....

UMP
2015 FLHTK, SE Agitator AF, SE Slip-ons, Chrome front end.

Rags722

Hummm, 106 inch motor, 6 speed, radio, NO FBW all for $22,000.  If they sell, it could be good for all of us.

To be honest, about the only thing I see that I don't like are the super tiny turn signals.  I know from a styling standpoint they make the bike look better, but when my life is counting on someone actually noticing I have a turn signal on, bigger is always better.

How much space can you have or need between the back of the rear tire to the bottom of the rear fender?  I think I could get my fat head in there.

Soooooooooooooo - a Victory StreetGlide eh?

This is the problem that I have with the Cross Country. The Street Glide came out and then they attempted to copy it rather then coming up with their own bike to compete with it. On top of that, it's fugly.  :nix:

Good analogy texaskatfish!! Maybe you all would appreciate the large fenders in a rainstorm! Victory is here to stay! They've already proven to build good motorcycles, reliable, fast enough (no real need for the HD taxes), and meet emission requirements while offering a unique (not an HD copy) product line.

I've never understood that. You can only assemble a motorcycle so many different ways to accomplish the goal. Basically who ever first came out with 2 wheels and an engine wins, from then on they are all copies of that. :hyst: Everybody copies everybody else. In some aspects HD should copy a few ideas from others to improve their product. ABS, just came to mind and a FBW that doesn't sound like it belongs on a John Deere tractor.

You make a valid argument. I suppose there are only so many ways to skin a cat. They could have at least made it a good looking SG wanna-be. Man the styling sucks.

Having said all that, I hope Victory continues to listen to their customer base and give ppl what they want. That is only going to put the pressure on HD to pull their heads out of there asses and stop cutting corners in the quality department.

Victory has been in business for 15 years and I don't think HD has even remotely worried about them. I am willing to bet you might find a Victory or two in the back room at HD but they have a long way to go before they will be serious completion.  HD sells more bikes in one year than Victory has sold since inception, (~225,000 units versus ~15,000 per year), plus Victory sales are not exactly going crazy, they keep increasing, but at a snail's pace.

I think Indian might give HD more completion, but it will take a few years, (maybe decades), to make a dent in HD's armor.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Yes I understand this. However, as a Harley rider that is sick of "loose tolerances" and "oh they all do that" and "that's normal" responses I am hoping that Victory, or Indian, or ANYONE can push Harley to stop selling an average product based on years of perceived image or hype and/or reputation, and actually offer a motorcycle that I can ride in stock form on a trip over 3000 miles and not have to worry about when and where it will have a catastrophic failure.

truck

Although it has four wheels, they say it's the worlds first motorcycle. Now if it just had a windshield and fenders and and a bigger cam and a fairing and tubeless tires and it came in several colors. :teeth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1_1GHFxdBo

Good point. I do a double take every time I see a trade in Harley at a Yamaha or Kawaski dealer. Reasons for change are many but clearly some didn't remain loyal to the brand. :nix:

Haha I agree Ron. I haven't seen a bike as pretty as mine from anyone other then HD. Just a bit frustrated these days with the company and it's attitude and direction.

The big issue is dealer network. Local Vic dealer don't have the floor space for Indian due to limited space. Mind you they sell many other brands as well. Triumphs a hot seller for them recently. Closest Indian dealer is 100 miles away. Have the dealers plentiful and close enough, then some serious chit will come about. Several I've talked to did the test rides, liked the bikes but lack of close proximity for service kept them from making the move. In a few years, who knows? As an example, there are two HD dealers within 30 miles in two directions of my home.

I dont want to veer off the original posters thread - that being said - I have seen a black Cross Country in person and IMHO they are beautiuful and look a LOT like a Roadking  - but those hard bags are HUGE - you could drop an HD hard bag inside one!

Personally I wish that they would make them look MORE like a motorcycle and less like something from the Jetson's. They are still too ugly for me. Can't we have a modern look without having it look cartoonish?
I'm back out on the road again, turn this beast into the wind...

Plus 2 of the 4 colors offered are just ugly especially that lime green. 😈

Hilarious. I always told people that the vision looks like something George Jetson rode to work.

As far as the Indians, they are even uglier imo.
