Even though it's been discusted here I can't seem to find any topics relating to this.   I have a Fatcat that I was going to repaint, from corrosion.  How does powder coating hold up to the exhaust temps and is this a viable option?

Don't know if this will help. Try LORAC COMPANY INC. Located in Wichita Ks. If that is close to you, seems to me like they had some high heat stuff?  800 554 0144   316 263 2565  fax 316 263 5181,

PC on heat shields is okay, PC on the pipe isn't going to last... for that you'll need to have the pipes ceramic coated.

From what I understand it is called Jet Coating for exhaust, powder coat will jell out at 300 something from what I am told, I have had pipes Jet Coated in the past

I use to PC, I did my FatCat heat shields 2 1/2 years ago and they still look fine.  I've done quit a bit of other ones for people as well, never had an issue.  Regular powder will hold up just fine on the shields and the Can but not the pipe itself.  Put a little heat wrap under where the heat shield clamps go though, if there is an issue it will be there.  Of coarse this is all with the assumption that the powder is applied and cured properly.
