Not sure where to put this but can anyone give me an idea of what this thing is worth? Can you still get parts for it? I will try and post pictures once I get them.
Thanks,
Whip

I believe it was sold through AMF and made by Aermacchi in Italy from 1975-77. Nice bike, but some parts are hard to find like any 29 year old bike. two stroke so get ready for smoke. Dirty

Excellent: $2,475
Very Good: $1,600
Good: $875
Fair: $500
Poor: $200

Not even that good IMO
The original Aermacchi was a fair product...Sprints, etc...
The later [I thought Binnelli] were Crap.. Think H-D SnoMobile!!!

Yeah from what I am told, the piston is seized and a possible cracked cylinder. Where would one even start to look for parts?
Thanks,
Whip

A buddy had one in the late 70's, was OK, not sure they're worth that much. Just not that in demand. They ran pretty good!

They made a 125cc model also. Had one back in the day, ran the piss out of it. Rick

One of the few remaining parts from my 1971 Rapido.

The Rapido was earlier than the later 175, 250 even...Same timeframe as the Sprints

My early bike was a 1966 CRS-250, the flat track model. I bought it for $25 when I was 15. Needed a Delorto carburetor, and a few other things. After it was running I sold it for $100, I was 16 then and needed 4 new recaps for my 1966 Ford Galaxy.

the '66 crs250 was the original aerameichi [sp] Sprint.
These were 4-Strokes.
The 2-stroke 175 and 250 came much later...late '70's maybe.

Right ...I thought so...Intended for the O.P. so he don't get confused...Worser.

My friend had a new (73/74) 2 stroke, I don't remember it's size, but it had a High/Low on the Gearbox as an Agricultural Bike would have and it was a terrible bike.

He liked it as it had AMF Harley Davidson on the Tank. At the time I rode a Yamaha RT2 a 360cc with a 19" front wheel.

My 71 Rapido had two rear sprockets on it. You had to take out 4 bolts rotate the big sprocket and lineup the 4 pins on it with the hole in the small, pull it in place put the bolts back in and add 3 links to the chain. The only problem I ever had with it was the slide in the carb would stick.

I think if I were in the market today for just putting around the sticks I'd be looking hard at the newer torquie 4 strokes . I have a running 1974 175 Yamaha for sentimental reasons but I never really liked the on-or-off of the two strokes for exploring.

Most parts findable, but be prepared to spend time searching. Try Bill's Cycle at 7145 Columbia Blvd, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, +1 570-759-9613 www.billscustomcycles.com
or
Charleson Custom Cycles at 211 Washington Ave., Charleston, Ill. 61920, 217-345-2577.

They are both helpful sources.

My 125 Rapido I got for $25 in a box when I was 14, took me and my dad couple months putting it back together and figuring out what was missing, shop manuals were a luxury back then, but it got together right or wrong way it worked. Rick
