I need a little better stopping power
I switched to the Lyndall brake pads and was not impressed as far as "better stopping power" not much different than stock, but they do produce less dust and supposedly will last longer that is to be determined

Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

I have been running SBS pads since 2003. I used them with stock caliper/s, then on 6 piston HHI calipers. Far less dust than stock, about 20% improvement on stock calipers. The HHI's came with EBC pads, I ran them for one week, then ordered SBS to replace the squeaky, no feel EBC's.
They cost less than stock or Lyndall, and do everything expected, every time. fwiw Buffalo

I sell Dunlopads at the shop they don't squeal and look very similar to oem material

The Lyndall Gold Plus pads work great and probably have the most stopping power on '07 and back Harleys. On the newer bikes with the Brembo brakes it doesn't seem to make much difference in stopping except longer life and less dust with the Lyndall Golds. The Z plus pads are good on the rear since they don't have quite the stopping power as the Golds so you have less chance of wheel lockup.

I put Harley floaters on the front of my sons '02 RK and Lyndall Gold Plus pads. He was amazed at the stopping power he had. I also did the same with the '06 RG I had. When I traded it in the salesman said when you pull the front brake "it stops!".

Lyndall just released a new Extreme HH rated pad which is approx. 30-40% more braking power than the Gold+ which has been updated for approx. 10% increase.

Extreme pads use the same part # with an "X" suffix added at the end.    -Rick

I know Lyndall offers a discount to HTT members.  I think it's 10% based on last time I ordered them.  Every time I have ordered through them, I have called and placed a voice order to get the discount.  Does anyone know what the discount code is to get the discount ordering on-line?  I tried both HTT and Harley Tech Talk and neither worked.

Same here. Braided s/s lines & Lyndall Gold Plus pads on my Super Glide. Little bit better feel, but no improvement in stopping power. After Lyndall's treatment of that German dude whose composite disk melted down, they'll never see another thin dime from me.

I've been using Hawk Performance pads on my 2002 Road King and My 2006 Heritage for a while now.  I've used both OEM and Lyndall in the past and IMO the Hawk are every bit as good, and at $29.00 a pair it makes them even better.

I have about 30K miles on a complete set (2 in the front 1 in the rear) of Lyndall Ceramic Metal Matrix Composite rotors on my 2009 ultra. These things are pricey....but I have nothing but praise for them and Lyndall pads. I have no idea what you're talking about with a "German dude"....but I absolutely see no way....NO WAY.....you can tear them up. I should also mention I live in the Mojave desert. My rotors look as good as they did when new. These are also the same ceramic/aluminum rotor material used on big money sports cars (corvette...etc). I'm not calling you a liar, but I have to believe something is up with Mr German dude.

I have no issues with running my LRB pads. The  OEM's were shot by 28K and had scored the rotors to boot as well as being dirty as heck. I had to clean my calipers about three times before I resolved a squeak issue but all that says to me is it was a dirty caliper/puck problem, not the pads. These pads have run flawlessly on my bike for 72000 miles and I will be changing them out this winter even tho they still have a little life left in them. They have out performed the OEM pads in every way, rain, sun or even some snow. My rotors have a polished look to them. I occasionally deglaze the rotors as well as clean the calipers. Just routine maintenance AFAIAC. I will be using LRB pads again. I am hard on the brakes, lots of stop and go traffic, etc along with courses and practices. Never had them fail me and they do stop better than stock pads in my observation.

The whole issue of the rotor meltdown does not worry me. There are three sides to that story and I am sure all is not being told. And it is a different rotor than the carbon one that broke up. Apples and oranges. The OP didn't say he was using composite or carbon rotors and in another thread indicted stock rotors I believe. Again, apples and oranges.

I would recommend LRB pads. But hey, it's the internet. Bonjour.

I use EBC sintered pads. One finger front braking. $27.00 a set. My 05, 09, 13, all stopped better with less dust. Almost anything short of dragging your feet is better than the noisy, dirty stock HD pads. Oh, I left out the fact that these last 50% longer.

Bet it was a process problem..

Regardless of what caused the problem, Lyndall's attitude & response to the issue are unforgivable. Run whatcha want, I got no dog in the fight, but I'll not give that cretin another dime.

Yeah Max the thread, and lack of pictures pretty much leave what happened up for speculation. Speculation is a far stretch from facts. I will admit here that I have a friend who had customer service issues with Lyndall. For me that is fact...but I myself and lots of others I've spoken with have nothing but praise for the products AND the service. Also, the rotors on my scoot are fact. 30K miles and nothing but GREAT braking (with a lifetime warranty). One more thing about all this that bugs me, and it's something I think you eluded to in the thread....How in the world did the REAR rotor suffer a total meltdown....and not the front (where most of the braking actually happens)???? I'm going to suppose here that is what makes you wonder if it was a process issue. That sounds logical to me. It would still make me think there would be other rotors in that "batch" that would suffer the same process issues. Finally, mine have a lot# etched in them, so issues like that should be traceable. Anyway....all I can say is mine are working GREAT.

I am using Matrix pads with a Matrix front rotor and am quite pleased.  I've never used any Lyndall products but I simply have no incentive to try them.

I have been using lyndall golds on the front and the Z plus on the rears for years now, I found NO difference in stopping power on my 93 fatboy.  HOWEVER the brake dust was reduced considerably, and I get a lot more miles on the lyndalls too.  rears have over 30K miles on them now!  still plenty of pad there.  I go through fronts a lot faster , good for maybe 20K miles only....

Been using Lyndall's for about 5 plus years with no issues and agree with near no dust statements.  His shop is down the road from my work which makes it an even easier decision.
