a friend bought this 07 heritage softail at an auction,i believe it was a repo.  it has a security system and no key or fob. I put another switch on. headlight,tailight speedo comes on but starter button only makes the t/signals flash. any way to get around the security system? thanks chuck. ( HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL}

take your id, proof of purchase with VIN # down to your local dealer.  they'll fix you right up.

DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE BIKE?

UltraNutZ

well i think they'll order a FOB(s) (unless by some miracle they have them in stock) for you then when they come in you'll need to take the bike with you to have them programmed.

Lookup the vin for the original selling dealer. Ask them what they put in for a pin. Often buyers never change it. If that doesn't work your team is trash. You will have to replace it and marry the new one.

You cannot assign new fobs if the tssm is locked

I was under the impression the dealer could but not the end user.

The dealer here says they can't do it and my TR Centurion can't. I ask Sandro and I could tell he does have the ability but he's worried about liability if he adds the feature.  Maybe one of our dealer techs will confirm.

I have a box full of locked hfsm and tssms

My neighbor lost his fobs we went to dealer bought a new TSSM Module (i think they called it a TSM Module) without security plugged in and he has been riding it for a couple years and doesnt miss his security feature.

Yep, that is an option.

roadkingdresser

so what you're saying is replace the tsm and he should be good. I don't think he's worried about the security.

Pretty sure that will be your cheapest option without the PIN to the current module. You will still need to marry the new TSM to the ECM. If you don't have access to DigTech or the Centurion, you can do this manually but it takes like 30 mins or more. And if you miss one step, you start over.

roadkingdresser

ok I have one from a 01 roadking. would it work? and what is the 30 min process? is it in the Harley manual?

I don't think that one will work

roadkingdresser

talked to my buddy he's gonna try to get hold of  the previous owner and if he can't do any good. do you(coyote) have one that will work? I changed one a couple years ago for another friend. I think he tried to jump start the bike and burnt his tssm up. I got one on e-bay put it in and never done anything else except start it. and it is still running and never had a problem. but he never had the security programmed on it.

Look up the part number you need for the 07 then look for a TSM on Ebay. The so called security feature is a joke and really only causes issues for the owner so just the TSM will get the job done. Also just look up programming TSM on Google and you'll find the details on how to do it if you don't have a manual.

The one's I have are all locked so basically useless. I find the security module to be very good on the bikes. Never had an issue with them. Anytime someone wants one removed, I'll do it for them just to get their old one.

Here is a question,is there a sensitivity setting on the new security systems, like a 08 or newer,my older 01 you could change it,the wind would blow,it would go off,my newer bikes seem like you could open trunk or bags it won't go off, only when you take it off the side stand,or turn the key on,I liked the older style one better more sensitive............
2 Bikes and 2 Beemers, that's what I have been told 😳

Security systems cause more problems than they solve. If it was my bike I would Loose the TSSM and plug in a TSM. Cheaper and trouble free.
But what do I know? I drive a party bus.

In 2007 the former TSM/TSSM was replaced by a new TSM/HFSM. The older devices won't fit. The Installation and password learn procedure is described in chapter 3 of the "Electrical Diagnostic Manual".
