Can some one tell me why Rinehart slip ons are so much more money than other slip ons?

I'd say their prices are on par with V&H and some others. Check eBay for deals...

Supply and demand. Rineharts are one of the most popular slip ons. I have to admit, I really like how they sound. People are willing to pay the price they ask.

The new crusher mavericks are really nice,  the RC components mufflers sound great also(had a couple of tip corrosion issues though) and Vance and Hines still has a great selection to choose from.

I ran Rinehart for several bikes, nice. This last bagger I bought the Cobra PowerFlo, I like them too. Great sounding deep rumble. Handsome, solid muffs

I replaced an annoying loud set of mufflers with Crusher mellows.  Tried the standard Crusher baffles first but like the mellows much better.

I reckon it's all in one's perspective - I paid $650 for Vance & Hines scallop cut slip ons in December of 2000..............and they still perform AOK

One would think that most aftermarket exhaust systems were dipped in gold judging by the prices.

If you purchase a set with chrome end caps, you will need to have them re-dipped (or replaced) because of flaking chrome.

Haven't seen any issues as of late.  Was this before they switched manufacturer?

Mine are almost three years old and made by Clearline I believe. Chrome started to flake at seam on end cap in less than two years.

Pipes are expensive because labor is expensive. These aren't being shipped in from China. American made = Get your wallet out. My V/H 3" slash cuts were 550.00 about 3 years ago.

Really do like the Rienharts though. Love the mellow rumble. If/when it becomes necessary to spring for another set of pipes for a bagger, will spend the extra 100.00 and get them.
