I am tuning my CV44 ,First question, I have a woods KT3 needle in there now and I am at about 15.0 Afr at cruise in 5Th gear at 3000 rpm, If I were to richen up the needle with HD stuff what needle would be a little richer than a KT3 needle, and where might I find a chart on the needles from lean to rich, where is the best place to purchase a 230 main ,HD doesn't show it in there books, called two dealers
Thanks Mike

I know nothing about the specs. on the KT3 needle.
What pilot are you running ?
Have you tried shimming the needle ?
What is AFR at WOT ? .... gotta start there

Read the NightRider link of how to modify/tune a CV. Its for a 40 but the principle is the same for a 44

The AFR on the main is 15 to 15.5 so I am sourcing a bigger main , but I still think I will need to go a little bigger on the needle, I want to also figure out the jetting when i am two up fully loaded pulling my 200 lb trailer ,the pilot is a 50 right now.

When you increase the main it will also increase your cruise AFR.
Don't drill the slide or cut the spring.
