Click some of the associated flicks.   You almost expect to hear, "Hold my beer and watch this".
As  buddy told me when we were kids      "Explosions are cool!!!"

Me thinks that Specialx1 & Jamlazyass caught a few of those.\
Not mentioning any names but I know of two bikers that competed in a javlin catch too.

The heck with shooting anvils , I'd just like to find a "good" anvil at a resonable price. Those things are outragous price wise . I hope those are chinese junk anvils.

I use a short piece of railroad track for an anvil. I don't do any precision hammering so it works good enough for me.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

I'm gonna go see if I still have that old train set. I didn't ever think it could be of any more use! Thank's for the suggestion Truck!

Mostly they dissapeared during WWII for the "support our troups" scrap drives. They do go a little high when you come across one! Even at auctions cause people use them for  yard orniments!

I think the one our farrier uses is from Sweden, He had is bolted to a swing out arm on the back of his truck and supports it with a tralier jack when in that position. Seems like it was almost $1500.00 when he got it.

There are levels of precision, this ain't a cnc machining but you should see the farrier weld with a forge,a hammer and an anvil.  Take a look at Damascus steel knives and swords. I'll never be able to afford one of those knives.  True craftsmanship.

I know of a local fellow that quit a TVA job making around $100,000 a year to make knives full time. Last year he broke $250,000 doing what he loves. His knives are works of art.

Bladesmith

Chinese junk anvils don't work...their cast and tend to explode when being launched.....These are the good [i.e. expensive] ones.....I forge alot of Damascus and have been trying to figure out what I can make for my scoot out of it...

Had a Damascus wrap shotgun my grandfather gave me when I was 25.
After I shot it a couple of times, had a couple of other hunters tell me that they had a tendency to unwrap.
Hung it on the mantel, never shot it again.

Not sure Jam I'll have to check and get back with ya .

Bladesmith

Hey Showdog.... Are you sure about that....I'm a knifemaker and know lots of famous full time makers and no one makes anything near that...Heck,lots of knife factories don't make that kind of profit....Does he forge knives or turn them out CNC?
