Has anybody put floor boards on their Dyna?  Can you post a picture?  Im considering put them on my super glide, but curious if anybody has pics...and maybe a few tips on easiest way to put them on/workarounds on issues.

Thanks

I'm too out of touch to be of any help, but one thing to consider.  Friends wife has a Dyna that has a jiffy stand that is next to impossible to put down.  Even with the aftermarket extension it is still a bugger to find and deploy, and that is with the standard footpeg. With floorboards, your only chance would be to find a building or telephone pole to lean it against every time you parked.  I AM NOT saying that might be true with all Dyna's, but on hers it would be something to think about.

Edit: After seeing the picture below and seeing how far forward they mounted, I don't see them being a problem.

Factory floorboard kit. Supposed to fit '06-up, but bolted up to my '02 like it was made for it.

So much more comfortable for me than mids or forwards.

+3....

I ride my brothers night-train with pegs once in a while and I don't think I could ever go
Back to pegs.

That looks really good! I may have an opportunity to buy a '02 WideGlide. I've never been crazy about forward controls though. This looks like a GREAT alternative!

Thanks for the compliments, fellas.

With mids, my hips cramp up bad & my back hurts. With forwards, yer stuck in one position & somewhat fighting the wind to keep yer feet on the pegs. With 'boards tho, you've got a ton of room to stretch out & move around.

Dropped some coin on a good seat & the 14" apes put my hands about an inch above shoulder level. Most comfortable bike I've ridden. No more lower back or hip pain, no more aching shoulders or hands falling asleep.

I really wanted to get a Dyna Wide Glide for the floorboards and the forward controls, but the appearance of the Street Bob in black with its Sparto/Crocker tail light had me from hello.

The very first thing I did to the machine in 2011 was to build a set of custom floorboards. I probably could have bought a set from HD, but I'm certain that they would have wanted a lien on my house for the parts. I also added forward controls. The bike is very comfortable with the boards and forward controls and it makes it easier to ride with my trick left leg.

This turned out to be the best motorcycle I've ever owned. Although it's only a puny 96 cu. incher, it will get around OK.

I know, pictures or it never happened.  :teeth:

The HD kit isn't too bad. Think the kit is running $320-ish at the online dealers. Not cheap, but worth every penny to me.

My lower back, knees & left ankle are shot & floorboards make all the difference in all-day riding comfort.

My floorboards are patterned exactly after early Harley 45/61/74 units. It took a week of spare time and I powder coated them in my big oven. I priced them from HD and they were over $300. That was a non-starter for me. I do like floorboards. I rode British machines for many years and got tired of having my legs in one position all of the time.

These are HD. I had to get rid or the forward controls.

runamuck

I have a set for my '01 wideglide. If I am going very far and not taking my ultra I will put em on along with a detach windshield I have.

Couple of very nice Dynas there. Always thought they were a very under estimated bike.

Don't see too many Dynas around this part of NC. Softails & Dressers everywhere, buncha Sporties, but only a handful of Dynas.

I had a '94 Sportster & a '99 FLTR, prior to buying my '02 Super Glide a year & a half ago. The Dyna just fits me perfectly. Comfortable, even 2-up & as nimble as it needs to be.

Back on topic- the factory floorboard kit isn't cheap, but it is very, very good & dead simple to install. One of the most comfortable (& classy looking, IMO) mods you can do. I work very slow, but very methodical (factory shop manual is your friend) & it took me about 4 or 5 hours in a cold garage with many beer & smoke breaks & 3 wiener dogs underfoot.

Considering the costs of most HD parts, I'd have to say the floorboard kit at $300 almost sounds reasonable. Hell they wanted almost that for highway pegs up here. Just sayin'   Buffalo

Kuryakyn has a number of choices for floor boards most are way less than 300 bucks.  I had a set on my Dyna, very nice addition.

They were close to $500 CAN last year when I got mine for my '03 WideGlide. Had to clearance one heatshield on the bottom of the V&H BSS but no biggie. Love em and call me anal but they are not FLOOR boards, they are FOOT boards.

I've been calling them floor boards for many a year. Won't be changing any time soon.  :pop:

One of them guys eh. That thing that holds your bike up while not riding is likely a kick stand too. :kick: JK brother...I don't care if you call them " darlin' ", just calling a spade a spade.
