Well the heads are off tonight , courtesy of Rx bob. Looks like the pistons are 2-3 thou above deck height.
Is this normal ?
Would explain the extra comp as otherwise explained.

kd

I just checked my 2013 motor and they are at 0 deck height with a straight edge (using PVC to snug the barrels). I haven't put a dial on them yet because I want to check run-out at the same time (and I got busy plowing F'n snow AGAIN :banghead:).
KD

Sunny Jim

Well we are averaging around 35 deg C day in day out. Some days 40 + .
I would love some snow.
You win some ! You lose some !
The deck height is above zero. Unlike your temp.
So much for mass production.

Sunny Jim

Cam chest open! Crank run out is .006. I would have preferred less I just say.

Roadraceking

Would be curious as to how much less that .006 would be on a stand at the crank bearing surfaces.

Sunny Jim

Yes me. Too, but. Not this time around.
Next year crank out and a 124 kit perhaps or maybe some GMR pistons.

Dodgy

Hey Pete, why not turn your 107" into a 124? Too hot to ride ATM!

Sunny Jim

That a great idea Dave! It's only $$.
Three motors - one bike.
I would need to machine the cases - who would you recommend!?

I'm not here cause of a path before me, Im here cause of the burnout left behind

Sunny Jim

Seriously! What's with the popcorn, dude?

Jaycee1964

.006 is not out of the "normal" range from what I have seen.  Heck my 2012 TK is out .005 with 30K miles on it and it'll be another 30K before I look at it again.  I figure if it's moved it's done moving.
The only reason i would be concerned is if it was beat on with launches and hard stopping.
If you have to stop and think about if it is right or wrong, Assume it is wrong.

Sunny Jim

Well the bike is home.
RXBob is the real deal. Enthusiastic, honest and reliable .
The 660 SM 's are really exciting. 266e's were great above
3500 rpm. But these 660s are fabulous.
Time to retune!

I like popcorn, the red kernels.
And I'm following to see were this goes. I could just hit the notify, but that's no fun.

RXBOB

Least ya didn't mention me frying the drive belt on the test ride :idunno:

Sunny Jim

Well there is only one way to fry a belt Bob. Lol!

kd

Will you be sharing a dyno sheet on your combination when it gets its tune?
KD

Sunny Jim

The new valve train is quieter than the original.

Another Auto tune run today.
I can now validate the claims of TR, Ray and others.
660's in a 120r - very impressive.
A word of Caution - there is no cure!

joe_lyons

The cure is "More Cowbell."

speedzter

Sunny Jim

We expect 196 psi CCP.
