Last summer I was on a group ride and while I was parked but the bike was running and after I think I had some sort of odd factory radio behavior I saw the code BUS ER displayed on the odometer. Bike ran fine and it only flashed on briefly. I don't remember seeing it the rest of the year. Bike sat most of the winter and I took it for a brief spin two weekends ago and I saw that code twice within about 25 miles. Stereo was never on. I did turn on the stereo after and it seems to work ok.
I realize that means there is some sort of  serial bus communication error/ ecm thing-a-ma-jiggy.  Any further ideas or input would be appreciated.

Bike: '13 FLHTC

It might be worth checking to see if you have any historic trouble codes to begin with, This may then point you in the right direction as to what could be causing your issue.

Yup, checked the codes and I had a U1301. I cleared it and took a short ride the same day and it didn't reoccur...I'm just not convinced clearing it will solve the issue...or could it ?
BTW...in addition to the fact its a '13 FLHTC, it has a TTS, SEAC, & jackpot & Crusher mellows. Other than a tiny bit of bling, the only things I've done that effect electrical is I added the harley dark LED tourpack bottom edges and the harley module(under the seat)that makes the rear turn signals running lights.
