Lots of stuff happening with the new radios and like a thread on some common questions. This doesn't fit the "Aftermarket" Section being only concerned with only HD radio and its abilities. SO please keep thread on track with only HD components and questions. Anything else take to the aftermarket section please. I have bumbled through some route planning, loading, and running. Also some music stuff, so we can ask away and maybe all our heads together can figure it out.

Figuring out some of the navigation and media options on mine I have been learning most instructions in the manual are to basic. Loading routes, music, album art.

Example it lists the ability to play "album art" on the screen, but doesn't say how to load files to see it. Hooking an IPOD up that already has album art is a no brainer. Works fine. But can the music be loaded to a thumb drive with the album art?  Why...cause the side pocket doesn't lock and I don't want an IPOD walking away on its own. A thumb drive is cheap. Can make a copy and replace in minutes.

Ask other items and those in the know please point us the right direction.

I have about 1400 songs in 700 directories arranged as <Artist><Album> along with associated Playlists and Album Art.
I use Media Monkey to create the directory structure and playlists  on the USB stick. I have no problems seeing the Album Art or accessing the playlists.

Occasionally  the radio does not start playing the media files, but starts with the Sirius/XM radio. And of course the AVC does not work unless I reset it every time I turn on the radio.

Bakon

I will try that. AVC seems to be common problem with latest update however mine seems to works fine...now it wont...

Wanted to add I just copied from iTunes and wanted to stay with that program. I went through three different sites/programs to get mapping to work with a saved route and don't want to chase tail again with music art

check your software,, under system info,, make sure you have version 1.18.1 or 1.18.2 or 1.18.3

Harley has been updating the software since this system came out,, the dealer should upload the lasted for you at no charge, and if that is not convenient go to Harley-davidson.com  boom audio and down load the update on a thumb drive,, all you have to do is plug in the drive and it will update on its own,,

You shouldn't be looking at the art while your riding anyway.   :potstir:

I have updated with thumb drive and it was easy enough....

and looking at art....this system is a major distraction when riding and learning it. Playing with routes on navigation and such...even with the warning at turn on ...
