How about a shop that deals in accident reclaimed bikes.........yes they are out there.

I'll give it another try, it's a friends bike. Nice bike, low miles, original except for drag pipes. I can see the oem speedo is going to be a tough one to replace. Thanks again

The 67283-96C SPEEDO KIT, REPLC 96 XL1200/S DOM   went obsolete in April 2013, last price was $499.78

The Speedo was also used in 96, 97 & 98 Custom and Sports Models.

L@@ks like eBay and Aftermarket are your only options.

There is one on eBay now which they say is off a Dyna(!!!!!) but is listed with the right P/N.   Beware as that P/N was never used on a Dyna.
