Too much horsepower is almost enough.

I got some at Advance Auto Parts yesterday; but the stuff is getting even more expensive---it was almost $8 a quart.

maineultraclassic

My local Walmart still has it on the shelf, $25 for the 5qt jug.

The local Supercenters dropped the 15W50 jugs a year ago, but I was still able to get it at a small Wal-Mart until last week.  They put the five quart jugs on sale for $11 and quarts for $2.50.  I bought all they had.  I think they are replacing it with the "Extended service" version that's a priced a little higher.
With speed comes stability.

Same here in Pa., $26.00 for the jug.
Wal-Mart has it in stock, checked just last week.
$11.00 for a jug........wow.......who do you have pictures of ? :hyst:

Are you using the 15W50 in you'r bikes or other applications? I need to change oil soon and was wondering about my options.

Evo1,
Heard good reports here many times on the Mobil 1 syn.
Never used it before.
Have the oil ready to put in just waiting on the clock to tell me.
Where I used Syn 3 in the engine and chaincase, I plan to change over to Mobil 1 like I said.
This time though, in the chaincase, I plan on using dino 40 weight, just to try and quiet down the "clunk" on shifting.

Panzer

Ps....a word to the wise, don't listen to Jamlazyass, Specialx1 or poorUB as they use Mazola oil in theirs.....just saying. :crook:

1JITSU1,
Last year I was thinking of using Castrol too.
On the back of their oil jug or bottle is their phone number.
I called castrol and asked them, the girl there said "not recommended" for m/c.
So I scrubbed that idea.   Might want to call them yourself to be sure, before you do it.

Just a suggestion,

ClassicRider2002

what are you guys talking about......just get the used motor oil from your local filling station....that way you know someone before you thought it was good.....and ++++ you get everyone's combinations of what was good.....so you can't go wrong......the cost is a benefit as well.....yes I know it's a bit messy.....but....just bring some paper towels.....

Just a little "true" story to make you cringe and it goes like this:

I had a shop, much like any Indy shop where we dumped used oil outback in a 55 gal. drum.
Sometimes we would use taps and dies and drill some pieces.
Doing the above, we used a catch pan under the work to catch the metal fragments, shavings, etc. and the cutting oil.
This would all be dumped in the 55 gal. drum.
Someone left the screw top off the drum until I put it back on, but only after it had rained.

The junkman that came to collect out scrap iron and steel asked if he could fill his Ford F250 with the scrap oil.
I told him what was in it, water, filings, some battery acid.........yuck.
He said it was ok, he's only gone to keep the truck for two days and get rid of it.
He filled that poor truck with the waste oil, I almost passed out.
I believe I heard that poor truck screaming as it went down the street saying.......HELP ME!!

Yea he poisen it
hay Panzer do you know what F O R D stans for

Ardy

I've got a neighbor whose bike has never seen 1500 miles between oil changes, in fact, Harley syn all 3 holes. I'm thinking I can get his used oil and run in mine until he changes it again. He's got a 2003 RK with over 35K and the oil coming out looks better than the stuff going in.
