Does anyone know if you have to have a different mounting other than the factory one when using this headlight? My buddy has the Harley brand daymaker and his came with a new mounting ring with springs attached to it like little shock absorbers.. I searched but couldn't find my answer.. Thanks

This is what Truck-Lite has to say about fitment...

"Truck-Lite's 7" round LED headlamp, 27270C, is a drop-in replacement for #6014, 6015, 6016, H6024 and Par 56 lamp systems, utilizing standard H4 3 blade connector."

@Blackbike... Thanks for the reply so I assume my 2007 Street glide has one of the part numbers you listed?? Wonder why Harley has a different spring loaded mounting ring with their kit..??

I have the trucklite phase 7 on my 2007 Street glide. It's a direct bolt in but it protrudes out the factory trim ring more than the oem light. A frenched or similar style trim ring makes it look better imo.

Thanks guys for the help I think I'll try the Truck lite..  Harley Davidson dealer said I can get the spring loaded mounting bracket for $50 but doesn't sound like I need it..

Just installed the cyron LED bulb in place of my truck light 7 bulb. The cyron has more of a round bean than flat beam like the truck light. I real dont see any diffrence in the brightness.Truck light seamed to raise off the road opposite the turn.

Just looked them up; seems a lot more cost effective; also looks like they offer bulbs for the spots; may be going this direction

I just tried to install my new Truck lite led on my 07 street glide and it just slips right through the chrome trim ring and won't stay in... The old factory light has 3 screws that hold it in the bucket.. The Truck lite just has a couple of small taps that go into some  indentions in bucket... Am I missing something or doing something wrong.. Supposed to be a direct replacement.. Any help would be great. Thanks

Do this bulbs (cyron LED bulb) have a fan built
into them to keep the bulb cool?

Post some pictures of it with out the trim ring it sounds like you are missing the retainer that the three screws hold to the bucket . The trim ring is not designed to hold the head light in you need to secure it with the bracket and three screws then install the trim ring
I'm never wrong , once I thought I was wrong , but I was wrong

It is stock on the bike the mounting bracket holds the oem headlight assembly in place then the trim ring goes over it. All you had to do was remove the trim ring then remove the three screws the hold the bracket (might not be the correct term) ring the remove the stock head light assembly unplug wire on out , plug wire into phase 7 put 7 in place put bracket ring back over new headlight install three screws install trim rings making sure to get spring clip on top the one screw in bottom and go ride

I think you took the entire head light mount out of the fairing the only thing you should have out of the bike is the glass headlight assembly all the metal stuff stays in the bike to hold the new phase 7 in place just like it held the stock headlight post a picture of the stock head light you took out

That's all you need the rest of the brackets that hold that phase seven in place are part of the bike from the factory so if your headlight was installed securely before you started the new one will also be secure

Just Nick

Number 17 will pop off the old headlight and you need that to install the new head light. [attach=0]

All you're changing out is the group labeled 24/28 in the diagram above.

Damn!  Looks like that thing's bigger than a trash can lid laying on the floor in front of your feet!  I don't think it's the right part...
