If you had to choose, which one?
Sputhe is the only one made with a harder aluminum, however harder isn't better, sometimes.
What are some opinions on running a aluminum arm on the street?
Do you guys think these are stronger then the stock steel?

Sputhe? Allen Sputhe hasnt made anything in awhile due to his poor health. Unless you know of an existing Sputhe arm thats for sale, dont assume your going to simply call Allen and place an order. As for the website, it hasnt been updated in years.

Roaringtoyz.com would be another option for a Dyna. They also have mountings for a chain guard and passenger pegs if interested.

N-gin

Roaring toys looks nice. The fact it has rear peg mounts is a definite plus.
The price is, well, pricey.. :crook:

Looks good! You have a chain guard for the track? The Trac chain guard is not that great for the shock position and set up on Harleys. I got one from Tiger Racing which is nice, but I still had to modify it-
On my second Trac arm now but don't be in a hurry....takes months to get it.

There's also these guys across the pond.

I have one on my '91 Sportster project. Top quality, and some of the most beautiful welding, I've ever seen.

Yeah, they make nice stuff. Trac is close by where I live and used them before or I might have ordered from Metmachex.

All the Japanese hyper-bikes have aluminum swingarms...

I like the Trac Dynamics.  I have installed several on FXR's and dyna and have one on my personnel 99 Dyna.  Besides them being lighter and stronger than the original.  I don't think I am going to have the axle adjuster issue I did with stock.  This was the big selling point because the older stock ones sucked.

At the dealer Expo this past year I seen what Brock was bringing to the market with their aluminum swing arm.
It was a very nice high quality looking piece. He had one there on display for a dyna and I asked him about one for a bagger and he said sometime this summer he will have a swing arm to offer to the bagger crowd.

Brock is a hell of a nice guy ,and he supports drag racing (huge)
his swing arms are a work of art . I am sure he would modify it to your needs. and he is a buckeye boy

Which ever mfg. you decide, just understand that the cornering ability will be diminished once you extend the wheel base.
Edit: That is if you want a longer than stock swing arm. Now back to NHRA drag racing.

It's been a few years, but I had also contacted Sputhe about their swingarm for my '02 Dyna & was told their welder had some medical issues & they didn't know when or if he'd be back. He was the only one who was doing the welding on these. I didn't know it was Alan Sputhe himself.

Trac Dynamics has touring swing arms.   Look around that site.  All they do is swing arms and drag racing stuff.   The how it's made is decent as well.

Trac Dynamics is what I have on my little bar bike. nice stuff.
stock swing arm in dresser class Ray . no alum. but you could do stock size steel with independent adjusters. then make the argument its no diff than what the old bikes in the class have done to get a 180 mm tire on.
