Was at the local dealer this evening, owner said the factory just released a 117" drop in kit for 4" bore 110" s. Don't know the compression or other details yet.

Probably more than likely a 116 drop in.. 4 x 4 5/8 motor.. Old SnS 116 without the case bore.. Will require SE crank 4 5/8 crank and new cylinders plus custom pistons..   116 is a good motor.. At least the SnS one was..

I liked the S&S 116" also. Friend still has one in his old Roadglide. A lot of hard miles, still going strong.
I'm thing 4.125 cylinders/pistons, thus the "drop in".

At 4 1/8 inches, there ain't any cylinder left.. 4 inches is stretching it as it is.. Only other way is SE cranks and the new cylinders.. No machining required but it's a big drop to drop in.. Personally I'd be worried about motor life.. The new 4 inch bore cylinders have the same length spigots as stock 88/96/103 cylinders.. SnS 4.5 inch stroke kits had issues using stock cylinders..

New crank,  pistons etc. won't be cheap. Might as well do a 120" if staying SE stuff.

Tattoo mentioned this 117" drop in kit in a post he made in the 110" motor upgrade for less thread. He seemed to be saying it was the same style steel thin spigot liner.
4.125 x 4.375 is 16.94ci

here is the post.

drop in on a 110 case that is bored for 4' cylinders already. 4 3/8 stroke, new steel cylinders.

Why are you posting?
Shouldn't you be working on the 96" test?

IMO that is a piston problem

I've done 4 sets of replacement Pistons for that kit

Stock cylinders

3.91-1.5/1.5/3mm and .043/.043/3mm and afik all still running no mosquito death

Sounds like HD is cashing in again

an expensive kit, but the cylinders only are around 320 skins apiece

Your link is for the 110 kit . The OP is speaking of the 117 kit .

If the price is not crazy it will make the 113" kit obsolete for the 4.375" stroke crowd. Sure will keep from having to skinny bolt that center case bolt. But those damn 110 style base gaskets.  :emsad:  Or maybe the O-ring can be retained on the 96/103 motors?

Wonder if since HD is doing these "upsize" short spigot cyl. kits (96-103 to 110/110 to 117) they will put out a 120R (127R?) upsize?

That would however put some seasoned 113/120R cyl's back into the FS ads.

It is a 4.125 kit just like the drop in 110 kit.   Also 2 new models coming out.

My mistake.. I read it wrong.. It's a 117 drop in kit for the 110 motor so the cases are already setup for 110 cylinders.. Cool.

We already got two customers waiting for this kit.

Thanks FSG, I couldn't find that last night. I like the compression ratio. With some head porting should be fun. Local guy did the drop in on his 103" to 110", with the factory CNC factory heads, made 110hp/120tq. A lot better than the 86 hp CVO 110".

has anybody done the math to see what the compression would be with stock 96/103 head castings?

About 11.3 with a .030 gasket and zero deck.
