QuoteI will wait for the new CCP to see how it compares to what it had for the base line run and then make my calculations on the new numbers. I know what I have seen for gains per CI in tests like this in the past.
checked it twice 178/193
will charge overnight and try again

Which cylinder was the 178?

The rear was low . It appears my battery is history .I left it on charge all night . This morning it showed full charge , but it cranked slow , and only showed 160 CCP .
Could you post a link to your thread where you showed the 88 ci test with stock cams ?
Or post the sheets here . I don't care either way .

Original Battery?

I will see what I can find.

I have an Interstate distribution store around the corner from work. Bought one of their overstock batteries for my Street Glide.
$37.00 and three full seasons and still cranks like new. The Moco can keep theirs......

Still the same CCP with a good battery.
the rear was low before, with stock heads also. I will keep checking . maybe when I swap cams it will even up a little more.

Ok
CCP Stock heads                            Rear 175 Front 180
CCP 85cc heads with .030 gaskets   Rear 178 Front 193
                                     Increase   Rear    3  Front   13

Oil temp at time of CCP test maybe different?
Are you using stock pushrods and lifter over?

curious why you think it could lose 1 tq and gain 8 hp ?
because you are the winner as of right now.
I actually tuned it yesterday, and still have to have another go at it.
but I am a little scared I cant get the bottom end back.

Way cool.. So why did the motor loose LET with better flowing heads?? I seem to remember an example somewhere where the same thing happened..

Cam with overlap will jump the TQ a bunch..

Sorry
He didn't predict loss of torque , he suggested that loss of torque was a possibility

Lucky guess.  I figured with the stock cam and compression the tq would stay about the same but gain hp from the heads.
For reference my 96 with SE MCR heads and ss570 cams made 92hp 101tq std

Jim...what exactly was Don's heads ported for?
It definitely gained a little horsepower on the big end...but the torque suffered in the riding range of most people for the touring crowd.
I was just curious if the heads were set up for more mods later on...like an aftermarket cam and better flowing induction.
