I am kicking around a possible project on my 2002 FLHTC and am looking to see if anyone can tell me what the width is for the 2002 to 2007 rear right side axle spacer (spacer that goes between the wheel bearing and brake anchor).

Thanks,
klammer

If you don't get an answer before to long I can post it later tonight. I think I've got mine in a box in the garage.

Thanks Zach

FSG

Width (OD) or Length?   :teeth:

The ID = 1"

Length = .471"

FSG,

you wouldn't happen to have the width of a non ABS right side spacer for a 2008 touring would you? The 25mm right side spacer.

Klammer

FSG

.736"

Now back to the Width (OD) or Length question.   :teeth:

It is really a length, although because the spacer is used in the horizontal we look at it as width.

If it were 12" would we still say width?

FSG,

Thanks for the second measurement

If it were 12" would we still say width? - I see what you are saying, length it is.

Klammer -

My Brembo caliper bracket = .94". Combined with the .736" 08 later spacer length FSG provided, you will end up with a total spacer length of 1.676". Might help you confirm your total spacer distance will work. It should.

Zach,

Thanks for that measurement. I have another 2002 rear caliper and that measures 1.185 combined with FSG's 2002 measurement of .471 = 1.656.  Your total of 1.676 is .020 longer. I don't think that would be a problem as long as there is still free play before the axle is tightened up? I can always have .020 turned off the spacer when it gets opened up to 1" for my 1" axle if that were the case I suppose. Still trying to put together measurements but hard at this point as I don't have a brembo anchor yet.

I think you will be fine. IMO you don't want free play. If there is any when you torque the axle down the swingarm will start to "collapse" until everything is tight. I never really thought about it much, but I don't think that would be ideal. Again, .020 is not very much space. I think you'll be fine. Just make sure your caliper is centered over the rotor and the belt/pulley clears everything.
