Finally got a break in the weather and got to the track last night ! First T&T with my new engine and clutch setup . Weather was hot and muggy and the track was hooking up good . I set my shift light at 5000 for the first pass and the bike felt real good ! Bumped it up to 5500 for the second pass and missed my 4th to 5th shift and bumped the limiter . Set my light to 6000 the last pass and was a little slow off the line but it got moving super fast and i squeezed out an 11.71 ! Finally earned my 11 sec patch !! Bike is running awesome and is doing everything i could ask ! The bandit clutch is flawless , i pulled out some shims to lighten it up and was afraid it was going to slip . It hooked up great and in the 1st pass i do a nice 2nd gear wheelie ! No worries about the clutch ! Had a great time with a great bunch of guys . Here are some pics and videos .

Way to go Josh! Looks like the new motor is a winning combo!! Still waiting to hit my first T&T night this summer. Work has been busy as hell. But, that's what pays for my habit. One of life's cruel jokes!

Good luck this summer, hope the motor continues to purr along.

Great job you have done Josh. Those 60's can only get better. That is what I keep telling myself as well.

Thanks Jay ! I hope to get to the track once a month this year . Practice is the only thing that is going to make me faster . There is a few older guys that are at the track allot , mostly on high end rockets that have been really nice to me and have helped me every time ive asked . Along with the help from guys on this forum i feel confident i will get faster as the year progresses !

Talk about a great first night at the track Wow!
I agree with you on the what will happen with some track time, you will just get smoother and quicker.
Keep up the good work.

Pretty cool! Looks like a lot of fun!

I basically work across the freeway from Firebird Raceway, now called Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, just outside of Phx. & frequently hear/feel the race boats blasting off across the lake there.

I just checked their website & they do have Fri. night "run what ya brung" drags. Guess I'll just have to see what my 124" will do on a track.

You guys inspire me!

Hopefully get back in November, heard on the radio today that the people that have run the joint have no intentions to run it next session so hopefully someone else has a crack

Looks great-
No reason you can't get that bike in the 1.60's 60 ft, which will give you another tenth or two on the big end, which is an 11.3-11.4 right there.

I have raced on that track a few times-pretty nice track and a great place for some T&T.
Check track officials for what you need for test and tune online or call before you go.

Thanks Paul ! Thats the goal for this year , Im shooting for a 11.5 or better . The shift light has most definitely helped in keeping my shifts consistent . Just gotta get better at my starts .

My reason for asking is I've seen it mentioned one of the requirements is an S&S induction system. I currently run a 45mm Mikuni, but do have a G carb kit available if I ever decide to give it a try.

They never mentioned any requirements as far as using S&S parts to me . I do use allot of S&S parts in my engine but they never asked me about it .
