JW Speaker makes the HD Daymaker headlight and you can buy if from them for much less than from HD. $299 vs $525

Amazon has some cheap knockoffs.  Wonder if they are any good?

QuoteWonder who makes the Daymaker Reflector Headlamp/Passing lights for the Mo Co ?

QuoteSure resembles TruckLite. And if not them they are close enough for 1/3rd the $

That was what I was thinking too.  Looks just like the TruckLite Phase 7.  I have a Trucklite Phase 6.  That is the one that looks like a giant insect eye, and I was pretty disappointed when I first installed it.  Threw out a pretty good beam but caused a hot spot in the road with very little peripheral lighting.  Not good.  I eventually replaced the passing lamps with the genuine H-D versions and they are awesome.  Great flood type side lighting.  I could get by at night with just these, and I did make a wiring change so these feed off the auxiliary circuit.  I am never going to use that circuit and that way if I lose headlight power I still have my passing lamps.  Plus they operate independently of the hi/low beam switch.

The lights have been reliable, thank God.

There is a review on these lights:

Although the phase 7 looks better than what I have I still think the original JW speaker light seems best based on the review.  Kind of wish I had gotten it originally.

Does anyone have any long term usage on these lights?

For very dark back roads the P7's high beam wins hands down. For everything else; style, low beam, daytime, the JW Speaker is boss.

Since the JW relies on a fan to keep everything from thermal melt down, I wonder how long those cheap knock-offs will last! Kinda need light when you're out at night!
