99' fat Boy. The screws on my inspection cover continue to leak oil once it is hot. Lucas Dino primary oil in there. No Syn.
I have tightened them with a washer underneath the head and still they leak. I wrapped Teflon around the thread near the head and it was Ok for a while but when I ride more than a few hours there is oil. Not a lot but wet around and on the cover and down the primary cover.
Have new gaskets twice and still no luck!
Probably hot and cold expansion opens the gap around the screw head.
What's the answer?

Loctite anaerobic flange sealant works great.

My machine builder bro gave me a tube and I love the stuff. Do NOT use it for the rest of the inspection cover because it's a bear to get off. Unscrewing is no problem and it doesn't extrude and dangle like RTV.

Yamabond etc also work well. There are now many sealants which do the job and many redundant threads about sealant.

"Best crankcase sealant?" over at Jockey Journal is currently a good one and even covers international options.

Seal the threads and the head since coarse screw threads tend to seep.

Permatex Ultra Black mentioned in the previous post is good stuff too.

I get most of my goop off the internet (saves money and time) and keep one unopened container of most in reserve in my fridge.

One thing I Have ALWAYS done and suggested:

Wipe off the gasket of ALL oil... Then wipe the aluminum dry of oil around the primary opening where the gasket fits... Also the Plate-cover...

I found that Oil on any of these parts DRAWS/Wicks oil around and shows up as a Little N annoying ... Might be your problem.....

No oil ever on my rides back when I Had that access holes... Leave oil on and it would Leak...

Hope you weren't talking Derby Cover... BUT it works the SAME WAY..... DRY.... No Oil...

If it's just leaking from the screws use permatex #2 on the threads. If it's leaking from the derby cover and you have the 4 screw cover you'll have to get a new derby cover, the 4 screw covers warp and the only fix is a new derby cover.
