2004 Road Glide 95 cams BG valve heads , SE race tuner etc. About 75000 miles on it now, when I fire it up after it hasn't been used for a week it starts instantly but idles at 1700 to 2000 rpm. Let it warm up a few minutes and ride it 1/2 mile and it's back to how it should be. I'm thinking maybe idle control valve ?

Possibly but they generally go for a "Potty mouth" with too low of an idle if gummed up. Clean it anyways to rule it out. Another possible is an intake leak adding extra air beyond the control of the IAC. Sticking blade in tb from shaft issues or cables worth a look also. Screw on the tb stop not allowing the blade to close enough for full IAC control a possible too. This can be varified by checking for TPS volts being in spec.

What does it idle at after full warm-up? If outside of 950-1050 I also vote for intake seal leak. Not hard to check them with some carb spray.

As I said let it warm up a few minutes ride half a mile and it's perfect . Rode it 180 miles on Saturday , perfect after the initial start up . I'll give the tb and iac a clean . It idles about 1000 rpm
