The rear cross brace on my 02 FLHTC is bent up slightly. How have others straightened this brace? I know truetrac makes a tool, but does it work? I have to think I could build something similar.

Thanks,
Klammer

Leave it the way it is, unless it is hitting the oil pan.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

I want to straighten it so I can get the pan off in the future.

Yes, the TruTrac tool does work. I bought the tool (used) from another guy and have used it on a few bikes with bent cross-members. Probably wouldn't be too hard to come up with something yourself.

I use a length of 1x3 channel that spans the frame.  Holes are drilled through it to line up with the holes in the brace.  I turned washers with a shoulder and threaded the center of the washer.  Slip the washers in the brace holes, hold the channel in place and thread bolts into the washers and tighten.  Pulls it down like new.

Ed & AJAYRK,

Thanks, that is what I was looking for.

I think I bent it a few years ago not paying attention using an older style lift. My fault.

Thanks,
Klammer
