My wife has back problems and I need to do something different with my slammed 99 Softail Custom.  Air shocks seem to be the perfect solution.  The Diamond kits sold by Demons Cycle are considerably cheaper then the Progressive Suspension kits.  Does anyone have any experience with these?  I am leaning towards the Progressive Airtails without the on board compressor.  I dont think I need to make adjustments "on the fly".  I would like to hear from people with real life experience with these or any air ride system.  Thanks.

I tried air ride on my Heritage Softail. I bought it used form a friend so I didn't spend a fortune. I am gald I didn't

The softail chassis has limited travel. The ride wasn't improved enough to justify the cost. Now I know why he sold it
to me.....

If your wife has back problems and wishes to ride with you I would suggest a Touring Model.
The stock suspension is better then any softail upgrades I have seen or ridden. And I have ridden
severial.

Just a suggestion...

I have to agree with Crow.  I have back problems myself.  A good backrest is another thought.  I don't know what seat you have, but a different seat may help also.

The Arnott air suspensiom using Bilstein shocks was reccomended by a guy who had a bitchen custom Street Glide. I'm about to order this myself. He reccomends it over the Airtail system and the complete kit with the compressor and switches is about 1/3rd the price of the Progressive system. http://www.arnottairsuspension.com/products/productDetails.asp?groupId=136
