Riding my bike today and all of a sudden it shut off without any warning. Turned the ignition off and back on, it restarted but only ran for another 1/2 mile.

When you turn the ignition on the turn signals don't work and the fuel gauge and odometer (doesn't show mileage) don't work. Battery is fully charged. No blown fuses In fuse blocks and the 40 amp starter fuse is good.

Help....

You got a bad ground. or ignition switch.
You only need to be 10% smarter than the thing your working on.

I checked the grounds cleaned and reinstalled same thing. Is there any check for the ignition switch?

you have a loose connection some where.
pull the tank off and start checking wires.
but
make sure all the fuses are in and remove all of them and visually check them.

check the battery conection
and the battery ground.

I can give you a few steps from the 04 softail electrical manual.  If neither the solenoids or the starterclick and  the turn signals don't work:
1) check the connector on the tsm module.
2) check for continuity on pin 12 of the tsm.  It goes to ground and is a black wire.
3)  check for continuity on terminal 1 of the battery fuse.
4)  check for continuity on termiinal 2 of the ignition fuse
5)  if no opens to repair replace the tsm

That's the best I can do ya.

G we had the same approach...

Do twin cams have the main relay?  This has failed on an old Evo EG of mine.  Did the same thing.

There is a starter relay in the circuit.  There are other paths through the diagnostic flow chart.  The one I listed was based on the fact that the turn signals did not function.

Tim i had a wire under my tank. .. when the bike was apart i zip tied  some wires under the tank and from riding and vibration the zip tie cut into the wire, and ii lost all connections. if i moved wires a little the bike would start if i did not it would not start.
check the wires that are zip tied .

Don't own a fuel injected bike but ,, What it the speed sensor took a dump? seem to remember something like this happening to someone, Also there was a recall on the main circuit breaker some time ago for cycling. By the time you got to check it it would be reset. just some thoughts I could be way off.

What bike is it, had the tank of lately?  Mine did that and it was a loose connector at the ignition switch on my RK.  Hippo clued me to that one !  Then the igniton switch failed and it did the same thing.
