I want to achieve 10.5 comp . I don't like KB(KABOOM) pistons and Wiseco only offers 10.5 pistons for Srceaming Eagle heads . I really don't want to mill the heads down . So can I take 11.0 pistons and mill to top of them down to 10:5? If so how much ? Is it like the heads, where .01 =.1 of comp?

a call. He can suggest pistons and knows the dome volumes of most of the commercially available pistons out there.

yes, it's common practice to machine material off of the pistons to achieve a desired cc.  Just remember, in the same way that different tire brands vary in their tire widths, i.e, one brand's advertised 150 mm width is actually 146 mm while another's may be 152 mm, similarly one piston brand's 10.5: 1 c.r. piston is another brand's 10.0: 1 c.r.  In other words, check with a tech rep of the brand to give you the exact cc of the pistons.

IIRC, KB did have problems with a batch of their hyperutectic (cast blend) pistons at sustained extreme (racing) heat at one time, but their forged pistons have always been reliable.  I'm sure someone here will describe their KB horror story.  While Wiseco did at one time make pistons for the SE label, I thought their Wiseco brand pistons were made for all non-specific heads.  Other popular brands are JE, Screamin' Eagle, Wiseco, Mahle and a few others.

Check with CP or give Scott at Hillside a call

I planned on giving Scott a holler when I ready to pull the trigger on my heads
